I can see your point on some aspects, and was disappointed in GTA 4 compared to 3, but I still enjoyed that game. I am keeping high hopes for 5 and am especially hopeful after having played and loved Red Dead Redemption so much. The new triple main character will add the dynamic GTA is in need of...I hopeOriginally Posted by ShiftySamurai![]()
No way you just said that, read this and tell me then, how GTA 5 is like other GTA's and how the shooting mechanins suck.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai

There is a lot of wildlifencluding marine life), and you can interact with them (Kill them, they kill you etc.) There are 3 main characters in the game all with special powers (Doing more damage when angry, slowing down time etc.) You can actually plan your own heist the way you like it to be, and it depends on your planning how successful the heist will be. You can customize everything from weapons, cars and characters. The shooting mechanics has been upgraded, learning from RDR, max payne 3 and GTA 4.....
Bottom line: Rockstar spends years on their games, and they are always miles ahead the previous GTA IMO. The world is huge (Prob. a bit bigger than the skyrim world). There is so much you can do in GTA 5 from the info I've gathered, this game seems to be packed with endless content.
I'll always grab GTA just to play through the story. But with the last one, I'd had enough by then and didnt feel like going through any of the extra collection things. I gave the MP a go, but the lag in it was absolutely appalling. So I'll pick up GTA 5 and Watch Dogs. But GTA 5 will probably be a preorder for me tbh. Even if I just play through the story and then trade it in. However, I'm not sure what I'll do about watchdogs. I'll only get it for the 360 if there's no chance I'll be going next gen for a long time. Otherwise I'll hang on and get the next gen version whenever I can.
I am going to be honest and say that my opinion was similar to Shifty's until I saw some more video footage and commentary. GTA IV bored the pants off me and I couldn't be assed to play through the repetitive boring missions to see a somewhat decent story. GTA V looks like it has some fresh ideas as well as injecting some of the stuff absent since SA - and I'm hoping the engine is optimised this time around for both console and PC.
As far as Watch Dogs goes so far I've only seen some pretty videos and have no clue how engaging the game itself may be so my judgement is reserved. Either way if it is a good game I won't get it for this generation's consoles I'll likely get it on PC.
Yeah, its like picking the next console right now. Until we have more info, its makes it really hard to know whats going to be good, best, worth getting, innovative, etc. But I have high hopes for both games, low hopes for nextbox and no clue about PS4. So I have a ton of research to get through over the next few months! LMAO
GTA 5 won't be on PC or next-gen consoles.Originally Posted by D2Dahaka

It makes me wonder how many developers are hedging their bets in terms of the nextgen consoles and waiting to see which one is more popular/better, as well as continuing with the current platforms alongside nextgen platforms for a period of time while they "explore" the potential of the nextgen consoles and learn to exploit their power.
But thats a whole other debate! lol
I think my long term answer to the thread title is both games!
I've played gta since i was 5(lol sounds bad but when your 5 years old hearing the drug "coke" made me think of coca cola) and I still find it hard not to enjoy, to this day i still play gta 3 and vice ctiy now that they added it to the ipad! But thats my oppinion.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
I think watchdogs will be an interesting game, the fact that they did something unique it their own way, however, i feel that the hacking might become to much part of the actual game and other parts of the game like the shooting mechanics or driving will suffer. From the first trailer i watched the driving looked really weird but i guess i will have to wait and see for myserf
Gta 5 > Watchdogs
I'll take both.
Both of course, as i love open world games. Watch dogs has a really cool concept and has an already announced PC version, so that's one for sure. With GTA i know i'll spend billions of hours playing it anyway. But at the moment, i'm just waiting for an announcement.
