    Broken game is broken; Problem starting game

    Where to start with this shambles of a game; bought it to play online; online party system never worked. Went out of the way to sort out the edge traversal, nat setting & port forwarding still unable to make/join a party. Whatever right thats no biggy just play single player until my group comes up with a solution, decide to do a match making... game crashes when i get into a lobby and this leads us to this point;

    Error message prompt when trying to boot the game;

    "problem starting the game; there was a problem starting your game. Make sure you have no other games running that use ubisoft game launcher. If the problem persists, try reinstalling the game."

    I've tried to fix this in as many ways as i can think of as well as numerous other ways online; reinstall, verify game, delete the game directory etc... Nothing works, i've requested a refund but steam are beyond unintelligent in solving my problem and wont give me a refund.

    So here i am praying for a miracle knowing it will not come.

    I cannot currently confirm the validity of the below mentioned steps. They come from Ubisoft Support, but they are for, what looks to be, the exact same issue that some users are experiencing with FarCry Blood Dragon on Steam.

    To resolve this issue, you will need to manually install the GameLauncher software, which handles the online authentication in the game. Please note that this software MUST be installed to play the game, and cannot be uninstalled or disabled.

    1. First, you will need to uninstall the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software from the 'Add/Remove Programs' (Windows XP) / 'Installed Programs' (Windows Vista and 7) icon in your computer's control panel. It's possible that the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software will not be listed if you have already uninstalled it, or the game. If so, you can skip this step.

    2. After uninstalling the software, you will need to manually delete any leftover files in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (32-bit versions of Windows) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (64-bit versions of Windows). Please do not skip this step, it is very important. If this folder does not exist, please go to the next step.

    3. Reinstall the GameLauncher software from: http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/lau...rInstaller.exe. Once installed, you should be able to start the game!

    Doesn't work; just tried it regardless of it deleting my far cry files (which I don't think it did as the far cry 3 is separate folder). I tried it multiple ways; doing it the way mentioned above; uninstalling both uplay & trials then installing one then the other (alternating this method) But still nothing same error message ugh!

    I'm going to have to recommend you contact Ubisoft Support, as they will be better able to help with Uplay launcher issues than I am.

    Appreciate the effort ShiftySamurai, no-one yet has actually been able to help me or even give a clear and coherent instruction so thanks for that!
