Great looking track, and has a fun driving line. Too bad it's so laggy for me when most of the background is into view. I don't get it tough, I have it sometimes too that a track runs smoother during a testrun then when I shared it, shouldn't the other way make more sense?Originally Posted by TeriXeri
I don't know why you think the curved driveline causes more lag, never experienced that. But then, it's probably just bc you see more of the background at some places I guess.
Even objects that are behind others render in the game, so the more objects you see, the more it has to process , if you zoom out in the editor my frames tend to drop to like 40 as well but thats usually when like a whole complex track is in sight, thats why curved lines can see a bigger part of the track in side view. Curves themself are no problem, it's just explained in the optimization video by Redlynx and makes sense. Also there's lots of shadows from the sunlight.Originally Posted by basslineux001
Object render distance has a great effect on reducing objects, however it makes this particular background look really blocky when done too much
Personally my only problem area was near the beginning if you jump up to the little pond, before the bridge. Because I think it has to load the whole background there when coming up from the garage.
Glad you liked the track![]()
Track for NEC #2 in progress.
New Medium track :
Tidal Terminal
I will work on more videos soon.
Got some feedback on the driveline, definately know I can make it better next time.
In future tracks will take extra note on objects used.
Already have a tweaked version of Tidal Terminal but unsure to ever release it, maybe in a few months with some significant changes beside the driveline.
Same goes for other older tracks that could use improvements, I might do a Remixed/Reloaded track series after tracks are over 6 months old (Evo gold just hit 6 months of age so go figure)
I'm not really a fan of remixing tracks, depending on what you mean (like small dl improvements and changing background a bit to keep it fresh). I would rather see a whole new track with the same theme then. With small improvements, I think it just won't be new enough, and putting time in a new background to go with some small dl changes looks like a waste of time. I would prefer to see more new stuff from you then remakes. Just my toughts tough.Originally Posted by TeriXeri
What I mean are pretty big changes, not some easy 1 day fixes to existing tracks, but using the same theme, with a new driveline, new layout and likely also new enviroment+camera effects to go with it.
Of course the main focus will go to completely new tracks still, not going to lay back all of a sudden.
What I do need to learn is to change my build order, as I'm a very visual thinker I sometimes try to remake real life stuff from pictures for themes and then partially lose interest and rush the driveline cause I seem to lose inspiration , cause I know I can do better.
Also need to work a lil bit on optimizing tracks in terms of unneeded decoration/curved drivelines causing problems.
I just wanna get better at this so I can improve quality consistently, and carry it into Fusion with good tracks from the beginning.
Any feedback welcome![]()
Got a more efficient way to get quick replay recordings (open broadcaster software), automaticly compresses it into 720 video only like 16mb size, let me know if quality is ok.
I'd stream but my upload isn't good enough for high quality video
Added Latest 2 tracks and some Platinum Replays for channel content.
Internet issues @ home, so no track editing or recording replays until that's solved![]()
Back editing tracks, just taking my time, busy schedules.
Next should be a outdoor Supercross , with maybe a conversion/adjust into a Trials track with a bit harder difficulty over the supercross, different line and triggers also should keep them different![]()
