Okay , so in my new track there are several water planes that simulate lava.
Is it possible to alter the color of the water splash made by the bike? Also is it possible to alter the sound?
Thanx in advanve for any input!![]()
The color of the splash is altered by the sunlight and ground lighting color. To alter the sound, sounds tricky. You'd probably have to make a sound play when you touch the water, and make it loud enough to smother the default sound. OR you can set the water to no contact response, and simulate the buoyancy with area effectors, and use a water splash connected to your rider to go off when he touches the water.
Thanx SBBY.
So then that's the only way to alter the color?![]()
BUT... If I set the water to no contact response, that would mean that no splash would be generated as well as no sound right? I don't need to worry about area effectors since the contact with my "lava" water is minimal before the bike explodes. IE, there is no riding through the "lava", just a chance that the bike will land slightly touching it after jumps.
Okay, I'm on the right track here.
Then is it possible to tie the "no contact response" to my own custom splash and/or sound? I'm off to tool around to see if I can figure it out, but it's likely someone can answer this question faster than I can figger it out!![]()
As always, this noob is grateful for any input!![]()
you could try to put an area trigger at water level
and on hit trigger a custom water splash that follows the bike
maybe it mixel well enough so you don't notice
by the way does lava even splash?
I was thinking the same thingOriginally Posted by sparkierjoneszI'm pretty sure it doesn't, but then.. I haven't seen someone fall in.. So sorry wouldn't know

maybe instead of water splash add some fire
you could also try to make the rider sink slowly by reducing world grafity or add some damping
Hmm I wonder if human can even sink into lavaIsn't that still pretty dense stuff?
good advice. I would make the bike or rider burst into flames upon contact instead of a splash. and if you don't want the whole bike to burn you could use a smaller fire effect. of course making sure the fire effect occurs at the exact spot of impact could be a little tricky.Originally Posted by sparkierjonesz
Another thing you can do is place a glowing prime right below the surface of the water with no contact response. This will make the water appear as if it is glowing hot as well as hide the bike & rider if they go below the surface. should look a bit more like lava.

If you've played "The Forge" from Riders of Doom, you see fire coming out the lava instead water.
Hiya K!This is just a thought but why dont you just ope an area effector and a flame following the rider? Then just put area triggers just above the lava triggering the area effector for 1 sec and the flame effect should rise then just make the bike rider dissapear. If you dont know how to do this yet i would advice watching Cannibal shoguns tutorials or das`s flowcharts located above. Or hit me up on XBL.
