Hi,
A friend and I bought this game purely for multiplayer. How disappointed we were to find the netcode is from 1997. I've read the endless forum posts on here and the Steam forums and tried everything suggested so let me break it down for you before I get the regular response:
(the below is for both users in the scenario)
- Win7 X64, no software firewall, no AV.
- tried port forwarding the suggested ports.
- tried putting my PC in the DMZ.
- not had a networking issue with a single PC game for a very very long time.
So, what options do we have left apart from a refund?
Also, on top of this NAT issue - you should really advertise on Steam that this game requires Uplay and all that garbage. I did not buy a game on Steam to have to create a Uplay account. What a ridiculous interface.
The single player component is great, but the online aspects are so poorly implemented you should not be asking money for this.

Are you using wireless?
I know of a couple of instances where using wired connection worked better.
Is any of your firewalls (you or your friends) blocking trials from properly connecting to the internet?
We both use WiFi to connect to our router. I am not able to use ethernet in my home unless I move my PC down a floor.Originally Posted by Alterlai
As above, we do not have a software firewall (Windows firewall service is completely disabled, no other software firewalls installed). The only firewall component would be the router and again, as above we ruled that out with port forwarding and finally with our PC's in the DMZ.
This is the ONLY game I have had networking trouble with in the last few years.

So i'm not sure how to help you any further but if you have something like a laptop or something just to try and see if the connection is there, you could maybe figure something out...
Greetings,
[list=1:1gxzid8d][*:1gxzid8d]Try a wired connection and see if that resolves your issue. Wireless connections are prone to interference and limited bandwidth if there is interference, also if you have a WiFi Analyzer (available for Android phones) check to see if the channel you're using is congested.[/*:m:1gxzid8d]Originally Posted by callsignapollo
[*:1gxzid8d]The fact that you need a Uplay account is mentioned on the Steam store page for the game in the 'Other Requirements' section.[/*:m:1gxzid8d][/list:1gxzid8d]
