I decided to make this thread to talk about games in general and the game industry of large, so talk about whatever you want having to do with the game industry and games.
One topic that people talk about a lot is how graphics are ruining the game part of games. I agree that this can be true, higher development costs = less risk. However, I do see hope for the future; at some point, graphics are going to reach a level that is the best they can be. This means that all games will have amazing graphics forcing them to be innovative to be able to sell. In the future, games can't be sold just on the "hey look at me, I am all shiny" marketing of today, but will actually have to do something that distinguishes them from the crowd.
What do you guys think and feel free to talk about whatever you want having to do with games.
I think Redlynx should fix the problems with Trials and all the leaderboard issues.
Yes, that would be great. Btw, did you see how fast IStride took the number 1 spot from Connz, freaking amazing.Originally Posted by ChicagoAJ![]()
We'll all be dead by the time that happens. My rough guess is True VR will be invented in 20-30 years. Extremely costly and will probably take many years to perfect, the first big game will probably be like Call of Duty. Fun, but not able to tell a story or provide deeper meaning, among other things. Restricted to arenas only.Originally Posted by LukeMSki
Extremely complex tech, but only provides a simplistic experience in the early years. Though it could be a very visceral experience right away.
However a market for "normal" video games will hopefully remain and wont be so mainstream anymore, and that is where i'd be able to get my fix![]()
"Shiny" is right. Did I post this video? I think so. It's hilarious so worthy of another posting anyway.

I haven't played it, but lots of people are saying how Dead Island Riptide has done near nothing of innovation or change, they have barely fixed the issues and everything looks the same, it's just like one big DLC, they say the story sucks, clunky animations. They say only the combat is still quite fun and replayable.![]()

That's a shame. The first one was pretty average for a first person roleplaying game much like Borderlands but had much potential. Cheers for the heads up, i'll look into it some more but i'll probably be giving it a miss then.Originally Posted by LitTlExJeZuZ
