As the subject says, I figured it would be a good time to see what the remaining regular players have to say on the subject of track length.
So what do you think, what's your favourite length of track in terms of the platinum time?
I'm working on the basis that this will apply to medium and hard tracks and that the extreme tracks are likely to be 10-15 seconds longer. So tell me if you think that applies or not as well!
I am pretty sure I started a thread like this a long time ago, but whatever.
Personally, I like tracks 25-45 seconds long. Enough time to make sure you have to hold your composure, but not so long that it frustrating try to get a clean run. However, I do like an occasional shorty or a longer track.
My ideal length would be about 35-45 seconds, all difficulties.
Yeah, I remember seeing a thread about this but didnt know who had started it. Like I say, I figure now there's fewer players it's time to see what that group likes best. A refresher to help out track makers target the core group a bit better. Be interesting to see if the results have changed from when you did it though.Originally Posted by LukeMSki
I really enjoy long tracks as I think many players do. More songor ninja though. Look at storeblock and uc gigs ninja. Extremely highly rated.
30 seconds is perfect for speedrunning tracks IMO.
I've been trying to speedrun a little lately, I suck in comparison to most of you here - but for speedrunning I prefer tracks that are about 30-40 seconds long.
I personally don't like the really short ones (like 15 seconds or so).
Every now and then I like a long track, Gigatrack length (there are only a few good tracks that are that long though).
I really enjoy fairly long, but not too long, I went for 35-45
For anything up to hard i like stuff around 25-30 seconds but i love a long extreme (and ninja) track like Diabolic, Blast from the past or, hell even The great fire, most people seem to hate it but i think it's one of the best tracks ever.
i used to love a longer track, but im partial to a 40-50 second track now...
