It seems track builders can't set the correct difficulty of their tracks (maybe because they playtest them too much?) so why not let the community decide!
Both difficulty settings shall be displayed or that won't even make sense.
I feel the system is fine as it is. I'd rather have some builders misjudge their track difficulty than trolls and butthurt people stuck on an obstacle rating it way harder than it actually is.
And vice-versa, skilled people rating extremes as hard since it was easier for them

I doubt this would end up working as it still relies on peoples judgement, it would likely end up being equivalent to the rating system where tracks are not always rated appropriately.
However since trials has access to all that leaderboard information, it should be able to compare your faults/times for single player maps against other players that have completed the track... and use that information to approximate the tracks difficulty. May not be accurate for the first few riders but after a handful of people finish the map it should be fairly accurate.
Yeah, what Inquisitor said. It sucks seeing an easy/medium track start with a ninja obstacle, but better have one person with no clue about his track's difficulty than everyone rating it randomly for a hundred different reasons.
Or how about this. Users can vote their suggested difficulty and map shows community rating for that map and map creator vision on difficulty.
This could work too..Originally Posted by satajet2

Maybe you ever came in mind that those "trolls" are actually telling the truth and its you who dont know **** ? I've seen enough tracks that were rated the wrong way and the creator wont even admit it
Way to dismiss everything said in this thread just to rage. I'd rather rely on the judgement of the relatively small portion of the playerbase actually creating than people like youOriginally Posted by Ahri
