    Advanced help needed!! Crash cam

PROBLEM!! everything works perfect....except one thing...let me explain...during a crash cam a helicopter (fully functional) takes off...using object position events and for the choppers rotors physics joints...it works perfect except a second after take off the propellers freeze and the choppers body keep going...how do I fix that? I've tried adjusting the cameras range but no good...please help...it's so close to perfection

Re: How do I create fault animations???

Theres no curve data source... I'm just using physics enabled and physics joints...is that no good?

Re: Advanced help needed!! Crash cam

I just posted an answer to this in your other thread, but you've posted more detail here so I think the answer is different to what I wrote there.

You need to use an OPE for the helicopter rotor blades as well as for the body. Once the blades are outside the physics bubble they freeze as physics don't work outside this area.

And just FYI, it's best to keep all your queries in the one thread. It saves people double posting like I just have.

Re: How do I create fault animations???

Sorry let me be more specific... No curve data source for the propellers...only for the choppers body and the propellers are linked by the physics joint motor so they move with it but only for a second and freeze

Ahhhhh I get it...damn I keep missing the easy stuff lol and ok I just wanted to get info quick...I'm new to actual posting..never needed it before...thank you so much for the help

I've merged your two threads together to keep things tidy and so all your response and questions are in one place.

Awesome thanks barrybarfly! Now I have another question lol I got the propellers to follow but they don't spin now...this is getting annoying but I'm learning new stuff tho

Thanks Barry. I was getting confused posting all over the place.

That's ok my pleasure. I have a little tip as I have used an OPE for helicopters a couple of times in my skill games.

What you want to do is get your main helicopter body, select the glue pivot and move it to the top where you want the propeller joint to be. Move your helicopter body as normal with an OPE, and use a separate OPE for the propellers.

In the second propeller OPE, for the positional axis use a vector info data source and match that to the helicopter body, and set it to global. Then just use a curve data source from 0-359 on looping for the rotational axis and set that to local.

Doing it this way saves you messing around with operators and trying to match the distances up.

Re: How do I create fault animations???

Honestly that's confusing me a little bit...I have the normal propeller and the tail has a small propeller for steering...trying to make it realistic as possible
