Released a skillgame earlier today which requires you to race a buggy from a-b through checkpoints as fast as possible.
I set up the scoring system to record time and amount of checkpoints hit, the time system (primary score) is set to be ascending so the fastest time ranks higher and my checkpoints (secondary score) are set to descending so the more checkpoints hit the higher you rank.
I did also include a second end event on the last checkpoint so if someone skipped around the track and missed a few checkpoints and just went straight for the finish then they would get ranked lower on the board as they did not pass all checkpoints.
I have just checked my leaderboards and it would seem that the scoring system is flawed as people are ranking higher on the boards with a faster time but also with a lower checkpoint count.
can anyone tell me what i've done wrong ? , i've got a feeling it may be the second end event but not sure
Also does anyone know if i can get the track removed from TC and who to message to do so if possible till i get this issue fixed.
cheers for any help
I believe the CP score will only be used if the primary scores are tied. Otherwise it is essentially inactive.
I think scoring would work better if you set number of checkpoints hit as the primary score, and time as the secondary score. That way players who hit the same number of checkpoints are ranked by their time.
Hi Barry
How do i tie the primary scores together ?
Is it to do with linking the second end event to my secondary score so the checkpoint count gets registered properly ?
Your best method for scoring is probably what Iron Warlord ^^^^ suggested tbh.![]()
It would be cool if during testing a skill game, you could have a mock leaderboard to see how the scores are placed on the leaderboard so stuff like this doesn't happen.
yeah this does sound right Iron Warlord i shall give it a goI think scoring would work better if you set number of checkpoints hit as the primary score, and time as the secondary score. That way players who hit the same number of checkpoints are ranked by their time.
cheers for the help all

Have just released the fixed version (well hopefully it is)
I have set the checkpoints as primary and the time as secondary, also set it so all checkpoints now have to be passed to finish the track and have removed the second end event to be on the safe side.
