Loool at Alienware. Hahahahaha, good joke.
By the way, shadows dont have to be rendered across the map, and this is not done in Trials. There is usually a max render distance for shadows and usually it's pretty low.
I don't think it's the island either, because some tracks work perfectly, and this should affect ALL the tracks.
Oh also, changing from 1080p to 720p is decreasing the pixel count by over a half, this should have a drastic effect.Running at 800x600 makes no difference, helps when you know what you're talking about....
Edit: I think you're confusing CPU with GPU... Aldo, I really doubt he has a $2000 CPU or GPU for that matter. Nvidia Titan is close to $1000 , and thats the fastest gaming GPU out there (Ares II is pretty much identical but way more expensive). So unless he's running Nvidias Quadro cards, he didnt pay 2k for a GPU.
CPUs are even cheaper, 3570k, perfect for gaming, is around $215
Most games run better in windowed mode, but for some reason it's even worse for me in windowed mode.
A $1000 AlienWare PC isn't really that high-end in terms of PC gaming. You're paying DELL a bit extra for an Alien face and name.
I think he meant PC and not GPU or CPU.Originally Posted by mike8

When you make claims like this you have to say: A) settings you running it on B) resolution C) specs

I tried what you suggested, turning off advanced effects and updating drivers, but unfortunately, certain maps - the same ones still have considerable FPS drops, granted they're not as awful as previously, but they are still very noticeable.
Also, flame flickering is still persistent even after latest beta drivers update
