was probably going to buy this new xbox and just put a piece of tape over the kinect sensor, but now with this always online stuff im not sure.

I don't know any more than you guys about these next gen systems, but I'm going to say this:
Wait until they give a lot more info before you make decisions. Decisions based on incomplete info or rumors aren't usually the best decisions.

If this is true, no way will I buy into this and the data monitoring the will obviously go with it. I like Mr Denton's idea of returning video games to there Japanese homes!

Sony for me next gen, I dont care what microsoft announce the ps4 looks immense and more tha good enough for me. The way sony handle business with ps plus etc is great. Microsoft have had 10 years of me paying to play online im done with them next gen.

If Microsoft does this, I hope it blows up in there face. There is absolutely no reason for an always online console. Every single other console since the beginning of gaming has worked without being online.
The Kinect is ********, I have one that I never use because they are total pieces of garbage that don't work. jook, I don't think your Kinect could read the Doritos logo of a chip bag considering it can't even understand where the hell my hand is.
Overall, if either the always online or Kinect required are true, PS4 here I come.

Like LukeMSki said thoiugh. I am personally done with spending 50 bucks a year for more or less the same stuff Sony has for free. In fact, I have been paying 50 bucks a year for 3 years for the sole purpose of playing trials. I am done with Kinect. Even if these rumors are false, I am done with the xbox brand after Trials Evo is done. I dont even like shooters.

Microsoft sucks. The 360 sucks. Only reason I have one is because of Trials. 360 exclusives are **** compared to PS3 exclusives. And all the other games are on both consoles. PS3 online is free. Most of the services you have to pay for on 360 are free on PS3. So why have an Xbox other than for Trials. The only reason I'm buying the next Xbox is if trials is going to be on it. That's why I'm praying that Ubisoft will be Ubisoft and push Redlynx to make Trials on the PS3. Then its bye bye ****box
There is nothing to discuss or analyze, for me. I've disliked how Microsoft has handled the Xbox since I first bought the machine. Should have done my research
Another thing that makes me sad is that the pitiful Xbox is the brain child of Seamus Blackley, an ex Looking Glass Studios dev. He went from taking part in the creation of some of the most innovative games ever to making a machine that in my eyes completely destroyed the market for consumers such as myself.
Having to be online to play games would suck, especially if there is a storm and internet is knocked out. Times of bad weather is when i would most want to play games.
Maybe it's hype and microsoft is deliberately making it sound rubbish so when it comes out we are pleasantly surprised.
I would still wait a while b4 buying (if i do indeed buy 1, i might not bother) as when it first comes out it'll be full of bugs and it'll take time for developers to make decent games.
I'm definately considering steam.

I know that. Home doesn't have to mean origins. Home is where the heart is, which in my opinion, console gaming's heart is in Japan.
