    Re: Bioshock Infinite

Im about halfway through and love every minute of this game......its a rare thing to play something so well crafted and cared for these days, so much interesting stuff going and a superb setting. Perhaps the atmosphere isnt quite as spot on as others in the series but it makes up for it in other ways.

Apdenton your post is pure ignorance AGAIN im sick of reading your up your own arse ********...time to add you to the foes I think so I dont have to read your negative twaddle.

Couldn't wait to strike after your failed attempt last time, eh emcee.

Do you even know what ignorance means?

    Re: Bioshock Infinite

@apdenton Why do you even play games anymore? It seems as if you hate every single game that has come out in the last 10 years. Do you just try to look for every negative in a game and only focus on that. You know games are supposed to be fun, so why not take games as a fun way to pass time instead of analyzing all the problems with them.

I've never played Bioshock, is it linked to Bioshock Infinite in any way like story?
    It certainly looks pretty good.

Don't start telling me to get System Shock Apdenton, they're your opinions, not mine.

Because gaming is at an all time low, I struggle to enjoy the new. I don't look for the negatives, they are staring me in the face, far outweighing the positives.
The worst thing about it is it won't get better any time soon.
And no, I don't hate every game in the past ten years. I dislike most though. It used to be my favorite hobby....

It's mostly a waste of time expressing opinions on a forum anyway, positive or negative, so i'll stop posting.

Well obviously. You have no worthy opinions on the games at all as you have played none of them.
This whole thread will mostly consist of shared opinions, so hush up now.

And don't get me wrong, I applaud the creativity and art direction of the BS games (heh), but the simple truth is Irrational had to stoop low to be recognised by the masses in terms of gameplay (very important) and some other things.

    Re: Bioshock Infinite

This game has a very confusing ending, which definitely begs for a second play-through in order to pick up on all of the subtle references that were littered throughout the game.

The story pretty much stands on its own. There's a small tie-in to Bioshock 1 (and maybe 2, I never played it), but just being at least familiar with the setting of Rapture should be enough for it to make sense.

It's crazy to see how much this game has been changed since it was first announced. I guess they were using this demo to kind of explore some of the basic themes and ideas that they wanted to use, because pretty much none of this ended up in the final game, aside from very small bits and pieces.

Like I said in my review for Tomb Raider, I love when games give the player a sense of progression through a large, interconnected world; and that's something that Bioshock Infinite does exceedingly well, along with telling a great story.

Now let's not get into an argument over story vs gameplay, because obviously that's all up to personal preference

    Your opinion.

I love System Shock 2.One of the all time greats in MY opinion, but please don't call everyone clueless, so full of wrong.

Emcee has the right idea for you.

Tbh it's hardly even subjective. if I were to say to you a watch was better overall than a smartphone, i'm sure you'd laugh. Same applies here.

Bioshock's gameplay mechanics/content was dumbed down so significantly, fact.
Bioshock offers almost no challenge whatsoever, fact. Unless you call navigating a few corridors at any given time or playing pipe dream "hacking" a challenge.
Bioshock's main plotline had elements ripped from of SS2, and was filled with plot holes, fact.
Bioshock's immersive simulation design was almost entirely non-existent, fact.

You can have the opinion that Bioshock is teh **** but i'd know not to value your opinion from that point onward. Even completely disregarding the FP/RPG/IS genre I barely consider it a good game.
Should have just been a movie...

About the emcee thing, yeah I suppose I brought that upon myself by calling people clueless...doesn't mean i'm ignorant though up my own *** and a **** sometimes, maybe. Ignorant? no.

BUT there has to be some kind of stereotype label to give to the Bioshock lovers

1999 mode in Infinite is quite challenging. Also, they got rid of that hacking stuff, because a lot of people found it tedious.

Yeah, they're called "people who want different things out of their gaming experience than you do."

I prefer the new Xcom over the old Xcom. Does that make me "clueless" about good games? No, it just means the new one is streamlined more to my particular tastes.

You are ignorant apdenton because you only see your own opinions as fact and don't take others into consideration.
Your opinions are dumbing down games whereas for others it isn't.

Lets just stop this arguing and focus on the threads intention please.
