    Game unable to save anything?

    My game does not seem to save anything the next time I log in. This includes my custom tracks, downloaded tracks, multiplayer experience gained and so on. I have my achievements though for some reason. I tried reinstalling, enabling and disabling cloud sync, don't ever play it in offline mode, but nothing seems to work. I need help! The only reason I bought this game is because I want to play local multiplayer on my own tracks, but if it does not save them, the game is totally worthless for me! Help!

    Could be a permission problem? Do you run Windows 8?

    Saving under "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" for me is a PITA - Firefox for example wasn't able to download a file to a program folder at all, it showed download complete but the file never actually got saved. At least now since recent betas it tells you the missing permissions in the saving dialogue and redirects you to C:\Users\<Useraccount>.

    Currently I have to save it to the desktop first and then Ctrl+X Ctrl+V the file to the program folder and Windows asks me for administrator permission before continuing the copy/overwrite process.

    Which is why I'm happy I got a separate partition for my games, and will have one for programs too next time I reinstall W8 as there is no such issue there.


    Maybe your TEGE exhibits the same problem, trying to save but not having the permissions for it, so only files in
    C:\Users\<Useraccount>\Documents\Ubisoft\Trials Evolution Gold Edition get saved but none in your main game(*edit* or Uplay) folder.

    I run Win7. Maybe you are right, I don't even have a savegame folder in the game's folder. What can I do then?

    The folder you said (C:\Users\<Useraccount>\Documents\Ubisoft\Trials Evolution Gold Edition) contains several subfolders such as: 0000000000006ce1177cd6f304-2-00000000007c0

    I should just copy it somewhere inside the game directory every single time I load the game and everything should be fine? If yes, where should I copy it since I don't have a savegame or gamesave or whatever folder?

    Those files under
    \<Useraccount>\Documents\Ubisoft\Trials Evolution Gold Edition
    are the track files from TC it seems, however I'd hazard a guess that the game can't access them without a save game in your Uplay folder.
    So copying those isn't going to help, since the one in the Uplay folder are completely different (and most likely the actual progress saves).

    Do you have files in
    D:\Uplay\savegames\6759a861-13ea-4ebc-aed5-313557932825\78 (or similar)
    ?

    If not, maybe you should try reinstalling Uplay and the game in another directory (something like C:\Uplay); get a medal, download a track or make a quick custom track and see if it stays.

    Just to be clear, the only thing that stays are your achievements in Uplay?
    Medal count for example isn't saved?
    If it is saved it might not be a good idea reinstalling the game since you most likely would lose them, so depending on the scale of your progress finding another angle to solve the issue would be preferred.

    I now reinstalled Uplay to C:\Uplay as you suggested, now medals do get saved it seems, although the gist of the problem still remains: tracks don't get saved (neither my custom tracks, nor the downloaded ones)
    I have C:\Uplay\savegames\8ede...etc\78 folder and it contains 2 files: 1.save and 1.save.metadata

    Shouldn't E:\games\Trials Evolution Gold Edition\datapack contain some kind of folders? it just contains files for me.

    p.s. I have just finished reinstalling the game, but the problem is still the same, no custom tracks can be saved. Yes I am doing a short new track all the time and yes, I do try to load it in the editor after restarting the game.

    Did your medals get saved before reinstalling?

    C:\Uplay\savegames\8ede...etc\78 folder contains 5 files on my system:
    1.save.extendedmeta
    1.save.metadata
    2.save.metadata
    1.save
    2.save
    but the first 3 only consist of one line and mostly "NUL" if opened in an editor.

    \datapack just contains the game .exe, some .dlls and a .wav, so no folders there.


    Sounds odd though, have you tried deleting the folders under \<Useraccount>\Documents\Ubisoft\Trials Evolution Gold Edition so TEGE creates them again?
    Or maybe try installing TEGE in the same directory as Uplay (C:\Uplay\TEGE; or move Uplay to E:\games\Uplay in your case and install TEGE to E:\games\Uplay\TEGE - after cleaning your registry of Trials, RedLynx, Uplay and Ubisoft entries).

    Other than that I don't really have any other suggestions/guesses left why this happens to you though, other than trying to seek support from RedLynx/Ubisoft directly.

    Today I want to remove everything from the computer about the game, so i can do it all over again. How do I clean my registry of everything? And where is this registry? How to properly delete everything?

    Update: Deleted everything I found on my computer that was connected to Uplay and TEGE, uninstalled both, installed to C:\Uplay and C:\Uplay\Trials Evolution Gold Edition. The problem persists.
