    Logitec Rumblepad 2

How does this game suppport the logitec rumblepad 2 controller (PC version of trails evolution gold)? The previous Trails 2 supports it very well - with this game it seams that the programmers have not finished a proper support?!?! Can anyone help?

    Re: Logitec Rumblepad 2

I used the xbox 360 controller emulator to make my rumblepad 2 work. Link (replace spaces with .): code google com/p/x360ce/wiki/Whatisx360ceandhowuseIt
xinput9_1_0.dll (x86 version) is the name and version that the game will recognize.

However, the game now let Windows 8 goes to sleep since no keyboard or other activity is detected when playing. I guess disabling sleep will work, but I am going to open a ticket because the game should probably prevent sleep while it is running.

    Re: Logitec Rumblepad 2

    Steam\steamapps\common\TrialsPC\datapack
Must have the 32-bit version and rename the xinput1_3.dll that they give you to xinput9_1_0.dll
This is the same directory as trialFMX.exe, and the dll must be here even if you opt to move the config files to the ProgramData folder they talk about (completely optional).

You must also have (can be in same datapack folder):
x360ce.ini (can be created for you when you run x360ce.exe)
    x360ce.gdb

    You don't need:
    dinput8.dll
    or any other files

When you run x360ce.exe, it will create x360ce.ini. You should also let it search the internet for a suggested config for the Rumblepad 2.
If it loads a config and the first tab is green, you can test the buttons and they will light up. The only config changes you might want to make it to map the triggers to IHAxis6 and HAxis6 so that the Y-axis of the right joypad is used and you have analog control of throttle and brake.

Close the app. It might fail to close cleanly so just click the X until it lets you force close it. The config file should still have been saved correctly.
Launch the game. You will know it works if you can use button 2 to get past the Press Any Key To Start screen in-game.

It did not work anyway. I downloaded the emulator ("x360ce.exe")... startet it... seach the internet for the rumblepad (which is ok up to here). But the sqare at the tab window is "red", not green. Anything wrong with the emulator? Could anyone help?

    Re: Logitec Rumblepad 2

I have a guide on steam on how to get a Dual Action Controller Working.

It won't let me post a link yet.

    Re: Logitec Rumblepad 2

This can be found under steam guides with links and pics

    INSTALLING THE X360CE PROGRAM ( edit )
Step 1 - Download x360ce link--> (Cannot Post Links Yet, lol)
Notes: It makes the game think your controller is an xbox 360 controller. Works with nearly all games I've tried it with.

Step 2 - Once downloaded unzip(extract) contents and move the x360ce.exe to the Trials game folder, the same folder with the Trials.exe file (this is important, or it won't work). On my computer, it is in the directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TrialsPC\datapack

Step 3 - Make sure your controller is connected then run x360ce.exe at its new location

Step 4 - The program will ask you to create x360ce.ini. Click on yes, and then it will want to create "xinput1_3.dll" so hit yes again.
Notes: It should say New Device Detected and a green arrow points toward "Search automatically for settings." Hit next and once it's done searching hit finished.
    CONFIGURING THE X360CE PROGRAM ( edit )
Step 5 - A graphic of an xbox360 controller should visible; move your sticks and buttons and they'll flash green on the graphic. At this point we need to switch the throttle from the trigger to the analog stick so it looks like this:

Notes: The problem is, that the right analog stick is not centered, we will deal with that in STEP 8

Step 6 - Once the controls are set, save and exit.

    Step 7 – In the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TrialsPC\datapack” directory, rename xinput1_3.dll to xinput9_1_0.dll
RECENTERING THE DUAL ACTION CONTROLLER ( edit )
In order to use both analog sticks, we had to reassign the right trigger to the right analog stick in X360CE… DONE!

But there is a problem... it seems the default position of the right analog stick is half throttle, argh. Instead of re-centering at the default resting position, we must center the right analog stick at the bottom of its range (pressed all the way down). This way, the throttle will be at zero when you start and not half throttle.

    Step 8 –
    (a) In Windows 7, go to the start button, then devices and printers.
    (b) Right click your Logitech Dual Action Gamepad, then click “Game Controller Settings”
    (c) Hold “CTRL+ Shift”, then click Properties.
    (d) Click Calibrate.

Step 9 – Now instead of re-centering the right analog stick at the default resting position, I had to center the right analog stick at the bottom of its range (pressed all the way down). This way, the throttle will be at zero when you start and not half throttle. Save and exit.
    TROUBLESHOOTING ( edit )
(1). The only time I've had problems with the program not working was when I placed x360ce.exe in the wrong folder, so pay close attention to that.

(2). 2.1.2.190 is the latest version right now but I'm having a weird issue with it. If the dpad isn't working properly on it, then try version 2.0.2.163 found here:
    (No links yet)

(3). If something didn't map properly, like there's a setting on your controller you need to hit to use analog sticks, just delete the x360ce.ini and "xinput1_3.dll" files and start again.
