    Performance + Multiplayer Patch

    Update: April 22 2013
    Performance & Multiplayer Patch:

    Hey guys,

I've just gotten word that the post launch patch with fixes for multiplayer and performance enhancements has been released. The patch includes the following fixes:

    Fixes in update 1.0.3:
    - Fixed multiple crash issues in multiplayer.
    - Made a number of general performance optimizations and fixes throughout the game to increase performance for all players, as well as make the Video settings far more useful.
    - Added support for lower resolution particles to increase performance in levels with many particle effects, especially on lower and mid-level hardware.
    - Moved higher resolution particles to Advanced effects.
    - Removed water reflections from Advanced effects.
    - Made it possible to unlock Lab Rat squirrel with keyboard.
    - Added trigger icons to map voting screen when using a game pad in multiplayer.
    - Fixed issue with shadows flickering occasionally.
    - Fixed occasional text and label positioning issues in editor.
    - Fixed Object selector in the editor not opening by pressing space bar if an object was selected.
    - Fixed Scorpion’s French localization.

Last week we also deployed some server side fixes that also addressed some of the issues reported by players

    Fixes in server side update:
    - Fixed an issue with the Test Your Might tournament not recording times to the leader board.
    - Fixed a problem with wrong tracks opening after Advanced Search in Track Central
    - Added feeds for Highest Rated in 48 hours to Trials & Skill games to Track Central.

    Performance tips:
In case you are still experiencing performance problems with the game after installing the new patch try following these steps:

    - Update your graphics drivers. Please download the latest drivers directly from the AMD or Nvidia website. Do not download graphics drivers from your computer manufacturer's site (Dell/HP/ASUS/Acer/etc.) because those drivers tend to be pretty old.
    - If you are having texture glitches on AMD cards, download the latest drivers. Old drivers have confirmed texturing problems.
    - If you are experiencing performance issues with Crossfire/SLI or other multi-GPU setup, you need to switch to single-GPU mode from graphics card drivers.
    - If you are running the game in windowed mode, it's critical to have Window Aero theme enabled. If you have Aero desktop theme disabled, the game will lag heavily in windowed mode. Right click on the desktop, choose “Personalize” and select an Aero theme from the list.
    - Check the "Wait for vertical refresh" setting in your graphics control panel (left click on Windows desktop background and select AMD Radeon Catalyst Control Center or Nvidia Control Panel). This setting should be either "application controlled" or "on". If this setting is "off", you might experience lag when playing the game in full screen mode.
    - Additionally, if you have any texturing problems (gliches/popping), please set the texture quality, anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing settings to default (application controlled) in the graphics control panel.
    - Enable "VSync" option in the game’s Video settings screen.
    - Trials Evolution: Gold Edition is designed to run at constant 60 FPS and the engine will skip frames if it for some reason cannot achieve this. For this reason it is advisable to run the game only with monitor’s refresh rate set to 60Hz if Vsync is enabled, and to lower the video settings if it seems that the game isn’t running optimally.
    - If performance isn’t optimal, try first disabling "Advanced Effects" in the game’s Video settings screen. This option combines a few particle optimizations that can be quite demanding from performance perspective.
    - If you are still experiencing performance problems, try lowering other video settings or selecting a lower resolution. After the latest optimizations these changes should now have a notable effect.

Also, we are still collecting data on open issues to further improve the game. If you have experienced a crash at any point, please send the crash dump to support@redlynx.com with "Crash" in the subject line.

a lot of games have problems with Radeon... next time just get Nvidia, equal GPU costs only like 5$ more and its worth it if you aren't up for the strugle

I have a Radeon and the game works perfect for me, so it's not a general problem with them.

No, we AMD users only have a problem with this game and that's it, so we are not going to get Nvidia just because of this and we expect them to fix the game we paid for.

Hey Zeron, we're working with card manufacturers on getting profiles for Trials Evolution Gold Edition into their next driver updates.

I use an XFX Radeon HD 7850 2GB on my home rig, and it's running great. Can you maybe post your DxDiag?

Thanks for the support, I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650, overall the performance is great but there are some lag spikes on certain maps, I have a high end laptop.

How the hell do you get this game to update? Still haven't got and update threw steam or uplay.
