Re: So, seriously, Controller or Keyboard?

This is my first Trials game and l didnt have a controller so l used the keyboard and for a lot of the game its ok to play the game using the keyboard right upto the point you get to a really steep hill! Or Hard/Extreme tracks.

But tonight i've tried a PS3 controller (all l could get my hands on) and the game has really started to click for me! Doing steep hills is no longer a huge challenge and doing multiple bunny hops is so much easier.

I would highly recommend getting a controller (PS3 or 360 pad) to play the game is does make the game easier to control. I will be getting a 360 pad when l can but for now the PS3 controller is working well

    Because it's a PC game?*

It's a game built for a controller, and a controller is the better choice because it gives more control. Using a keyboard obviously works to a degree, but I don't see why you think people should cater to the inferior control scheme.

If they don't want to make tracks for PC users, why come to the PC version if they already had the Xbox version where they wouldn't have to consider keyboard users at all?

You make tracks for the PC version, make them so all PC users can play them instead of discriminating because you think your control scheme is better. I'm not paying more than the cost of this game for a controller just so some tracks are playable.

Do you really think that all PC gamers play with k&m and everyone who uses controllers came from Xbox?

No, but I know there are PC gamers who use the keyboard who won't be able to enjoy certain aspects of TC (the most challenging tracks) because track designers don't even consider that they might want to play "ninja" tracks.

I don't see where I suggested that ALL PC users use keyboard and ALL controller users came from Xbox. I'm questioning why people who have the game on Xbox already would come to platform which has PC gamers who use the keyboard and don't own a controller and then make tracks keyboard users can't finish, and then tell them their native control scheme is inferior.

You have a Playstation account, so you probably own a PS3. Why not use Dualshock 3?

Screw unofficial third-party Chinese-made closed-source drivers like Motioninjoy.

...Although I do use it for local multiplayer (me on keyboard, one mate on the PS3 controller, the other on on Rustofski's Xbox controller). But Motioninjoy has a few problems like disconnecting randomly (*I use USB, so it's not a dodgy Bluetooth dongle) and sometimes the triggers rapidly activate-deactivate while causing the right analogue stick to register as being randomly pushed in all directions (the analogue stick thing doesn't affect Trials, but it messed with Dirt 2 quite a lot, the trigger not working obviously does affect Trials), so it's reliable enough to try ninjaing with, at least for me. Some people might have better luck with it.

14 faults first time I finished the track. Like a boss.

Seriously, keyboard. I see no benefit from using the controller, save perhaps immersion. Someone mentioned climbing: what you do is tap up-arrow on and off if you're loosing traction on the front wheel.

Having played with controller extensively on the previous versions, and with keyboard on t2se, I think I can state that comparatively, the keyboard has more precision. It's easier to redo a particular move in precisely the way you want.

Keyboard is on or off, it is more direct but it's the exact opposite of precision, you should use whatever you feel more comfortable with but the analog controls are more precise, this is a fact.
