Idea for making time lapse videos
I thought of a cool idea for making a fixed-position time-lapse video in the editor.
1. Place a custom camera, and tie its "Use as Game Camera" setting to a VDS, set to 1.
2. Send the checkpoint triggers to a set value event, which sets that variable to 0.
tried using a camera event, but it didn't seem to work.)
3. Start recording (make sure you've got a lot of hard drive space)
4. Each time you test the track from the start, it will start off on that custom camera during the countdown, until you wait for the countdown timer or press LB to start the race. There's a short pause before the countdown actually shows up, so it won't obscure the view.
5. Scroll through your recorded video file and find all of the frames from the custom camera to use in your time lapse video
Not sure if anyone will want to try this (it might be a little too involved), but I might try it when making my next track.
I'm sure there would we ways of scripting this to make it less tedious, too (like press a key to to: press "Esc", click at the position of "Test Track," press "R," then take a snapshot)

Re: Idea for making time lapse videos
So if I am understanding this correctly, you can see the level being built up in the timelapse?
I think its a great idea and you have a good tutorial for it. Only one problem I see is that it would indeed be annoying to test the track everytime so that you would get a good timelapse.
