I am really itching to buy a new game. Have not bought one since COD BO2 (waste of money again)

Anxious to hear some first impressions on this game. I have been hearing tons of good stuff about Tomb Raider but I will hold off until you guys give some feedback on Gears.

From everything I've heard Vladi I'd buy Tomb Raider unless you're a serious Gears nut...even then it may be disappointing.

And the Overrun demo is now available on the Live Marketplace, if you can't find it search Gears Judgement and look at 'All'.

I would definitely suggest getting Tomb Raider. I think of it as a mixture of Uncharted (ps3), Assassins Creed, and Far Cry. Its a great game. Lots of exploring over numerous landscapes. Tons of action sequences in the story. Upgrading weapons and supplies isn't difficult and they are very rewarding. Skill trees are useful to an extent, and then some of the skills are kind of pointless. But overall its a really good game. Would 100% suggest getting Tomb Raider.

As for judgment, i bought it. Still playing god of war on ps3, but I'm looking forward to playing gears. I was in love (literally in love lol) with gears 1, completely hated 2, 3 was ehh, but i still wanna play judgment. Baird was always my favorite character. I played a match on MP last night and the movement of the character and gun handling felt like a combo of gears 1 and 3 which can turn out to be really good. I'll have to play more to really tell.

Well I went ahead and bought Gears. Will be playing it tonight if any of you guys want to party up!

I won't have it till Friday ( UK release ) but I'll be up for some co-op campaign and multiplayer after then.

Even though im really looking foward to GoW J, im worried about the games multiplayer..

Im a huge GoW fan, played the hell out of every game (mostly the multiplayer). Ive played the Overrun demo and ive watched several multiplayer gameplay videos of GoW J. Overrun is awesome, but becuase of it everything else is "meh". let me explain.

I will point out that i have not played the multiplayer myself, so i can only go on what ive seen in the videos.
For starters the maps in judgment look beautiful, they are the best looking GoW multiplayer maps to date. However the maps have been designed with Overrun in mind. Because of this the maps are not symmetrical. This is very important as its what made GoW 3's maps awesome and Half of GoW 2's maps suck. The maps in judgment are alot larger than GoW 3 and are insymmetrical, So when you think about it, this explains why execution was dropped from the game in the first place (even though execution is returning, doesnt mean it will be fun..). Some of the maps are so large in GoW judgment that you will be running around for ages trying to even find someone to shoot.

The custom class system worries me in GoW judgment also..

You only start with one main weapon + snub pistol + a grenade of your choosing (Gears of Duty anyone?). This means you can no longer have a lancer and a gnasher, you have to have one or the other. This in my opinion makes no sense... Here is a link to what "custom classes" you can make in GoW judgment.

So this would now explain why:
. The Sawn off shotgun now has 2 shots rather than 1.
. You can now use a boom shield and a primary weapon at the same time.
. Changing weapons and throwing grenades are now alot faster than previous gears games.

So the good old gnasher battles will be replaced with lancer, hammer burst hip fire battles... fun...

Also other small tweeks such as the down but not out rule being removed from the game makes no sence... all of those cool executions + meatshield frag tags are now pointless...

So these are my thoughts.. The game will still be worth getting because of Overrun and obviously the campaign (maybe FFA) but if your a GoW fanboy then this may not be the gears game your expecting.

It's gear 2 gnasher, it require skill and being in the damn face. Just the way I like it.

Well I went ahead and bought this game yesterday. I downloaded and played the demo first just to make sure I wanted to keep it. I was bored with it after 5 minutes. I will be returning it today. I refuse to even open it. I know it may be silly to judge the entire game from just the demo but I don't care.

This is just turning into another call of duty. Release the same game with a few minor changes. What ever happened to making a NEW game? I am glad I played the demo before I opened the game.

For hardcore fans it might be enjoyable but for me it isn't worth $60.
