I apologize if there is a thread made just for this kind of question, but I didn't see one. I'm not on the forums much. I'm trying to create a track which uses the same ideas as the Aerial Architect skill game. I want to make my bike float at a certain height even when I'm not touching the gas. I want a sound to be made when I press the gas, but stop when I let go. I would also like an effect to do the exact same thing. I also need the bike to move forwards and backwards. That last one is the hardest. I don't know if its possible to make only the tires invisible AND still function on the bike. If this is not possible then I'm sure my whole idea is just pointless. If anyone can help me with any of these issues, ESPECIALLY THE LAST ONE, then I would be very grateful. I'm also happy to further explain anything if needed.
Watch the official RedLynx editor tutorials.
I assume you are past the basics of the editor, so start with this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=Zme0O2A9CK0
i don't think you can only make the tires invisible because you can't target bike or rider with an invisibility eventOriginally Posted by SharpieSniffer
you can make the complete bike invisible
one thing you can do however is to detach the wheels
just watch the redlynx youtube tutorials and this https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B1...dkE/edit?pli=1
and ask away for more specific problems
So I've been able to figure most of my problems on my own. The videos didn't seem to help me in any way, but I appreciate the help. I still have the problem of getting rid of my tires. I might be able to construct my own tires, make them invisible, and have them function as tires. If I do that, then how can I make it so you can't see the tires when they detach? I figured that's what redlynx did when making Aerial Architect. But again you don't see the tires ever in the skill game, so.........
the game starts with the rider and bike invisible, my guess is that in that time they use a detach event along with area forces that blow the wheels out of sight before making the bike and fake wheel rims visible.Originally Posted by SharpieSniffer
Makes sense, never thought of it like that. Thanks a lot, appreciate it.Originally Posted by dasraiser
Well I was able to make my idea work. I still have a few ideas to create, but the whole bike situation is good to go. Though nobody's suggestions were used, I still really appreciate those who gave any help. Stayed tuned for more possible questions. If anybody would like to see what I've done so far just send me a message, I would really like to show someone this.
