I am deeply dissapointed in my purchase of Trials Evolution Gold using steam
I started the game, uplay software started. Tried to make a new account using my email adress, when it said i already had an account.
Tried to login, it worked, entered my key, and then noticed that my nickname is shop5CF00D60C.
I googled a bit and learned that this was a randomly generated username, and that many people have had this issue, also it looks like all of these people never got it fixed, (or they did, but they lost their multiplayer modes in the games they owned)
I find this unacceptable, I contacted ubisoft support using tickets, they said it was impossible to change, so I called the helpdesk, they said it was possible to change, but you had a big chance you would lose multiplayer.
I said let's try it anyway, he asked me to send 3 usernames i would like to have,and one of them would become my new username, i sended it during the call, he saw it and said he would change it for me, i was on the phone for about 5-6 minutes (€0.50/min)
That was 5 days ago, My nickname still hasn't changed, they don't respond anymore to my support tickets, and I refuse to call them again and pay €0.50 / min again.
Please tell me anyone from redlynx can help me out, i tried to refund my game using steam (and then i would re-purchase and register to a new uplay acc) but they won't refund it..
I have bought every trials game so far, even the ones on xbox, and im very dissapointed by all this.
Is there a specific process to go through to get the Uplay usernames changed, as i have the same problem being that my username was randomly generated as well.
I don't know it's because of you guys but my username has finnaly been changed after i ranted here and on the Ubisoft forums, so thanks anyways guys!

I have read somewhere that they only change it when you have a randomly generated shopxxxxxxxx username, but you can try to fill in a support ticket on the ubisoft website.Originally Posted by Markor
had the same problem when i bought my first uplay game.
when creating the account-name i wasn't aware of the fact that that name would be used in multiplayer for example. contacted support, they said they have no option to change it.
made a new account with a new name when i bought another uplay game.
it's a total mess, i can not understand why you can't have an ingame name that is separated from your account name (like it IS possible in steam). good job ubisoft!
