I'm the same as Jook (except for being a beast at Trials thing) and play games to relax. Im cool with all this stuff being optional though. Last thing I want to do after a long day at work is move wiggle around.

I'm with Jook here. I get outside plenty and don't need a console for that reason (exercise). Stupid Kinect/motion recognised gaming.
I actually like how that thing can supposedly control other devices. I for one, would love to not have to use my mouse when I want to watch a movie from Netflix (because the website version has more stuff than what they show on Xbox or my Apple TV).
I have the kinect. It's in my closet. After a year or so, it chronically prompt when playing a movie. The worst speech recognition.
For gaming, the reason I play video games, is to NOT move. If you're going to play kinect bowling, why not just go out. Guitar hero is the only real movement I'm willing to do to game.
I bet the people who create this aren't avid gamers, but a group of Microsoft boardroom geeks who think they have the "in" on what's going to be the next big thing. I'd say 80% of men 25 and up could care less about swinging a fake racquet. Kinect, for women and kids.
They should have taken that money wasted on putting the Kinect2 in everyXbox and increasing the power of the console...have the kinect as an extra.
What we need is some kind of helmet that lets us control a game with our thoughts. That way the level of physical activity would be zero.
No way, not with my slow *** brain. My fingers and buttons would be much more responsive for me.Originally Posted by xIronWarlordx
Thats pretty incredible. Getting closer and closer to my dreams of virtual gaming!
it was fun...for about a month...Originally Posted by Croatch
That's so cool. But the only way I'll ever truly embrace control methods like that over a controller is when the PRESENTATION matches the realism of the control. It has to really make me feel like I'm living the game, like some kind of virtual reality, or projection that goes all around your body. Until then I NEED a controller, it's just so much more intuitive for 99.999% of games out today.
Plus I'm just going to find a way to play the game sitting down and doing the minimal effort.
The way it was used for the real world was very cool though. Even though I know I would hate a world that can't function without the aid of technology.
