Could this be the game changer Xbox needs?

This added with a finer tweaked kinect could make for fun, responsive new gameplay from a console. You could even wear it while using a controller.....Imagine playing Left 4 Dead and a zombie comes up, grabs you and you have to make a grab motion at the screen to throw them off of you.

No, I need my buttons and controller. The minute they take that away I will not play videogames anymore.

I agree. Most games aren't the same without a controller. But if you can have the arm band on and a controller in your hand and only use gestures for stuff like stabbing in a FPS. It would open up a button on the controller and it would be cool to make a fist and stab at the tv.

I agree with both you lol. Jook is right and I believe we are both older dudes that started gaming when gaming started need those buttons, stuff like kinect is too much work. But like mauler said, used as extra optional features WITH a controller would be cool, I'd be into that.

I'm reminded of back to the future 2...."you mean you gotta use your hands?" "That's like a baby's toy!"

I can see it replacing stupid "Press A" moments in games. I hate those moments in games. Sitting there mashing the A button to pull yourself up an edge gets annoying.

Other ideas for it. Snapping fingers to turn on night vision(Splinter Cell), volume control, menu navigation, a new Star Wars game(hand gestures can be some force powers). And all while sitting on your couch with a controller in your hand...things could get fun with this technology.

When I play games I like to relax in my armchair with minimal movement. This kinda of stuff is for kids IMO

I remember when Wii first came out. I thought I would be into that, exersise a bit while I play. I was dead wrong. Maybe its simply because I am in construction and am physical all day, but when I play games I do it to relax.

My kids will only play xbox games with a controller, they hate kinect games as well.
