There are new v314.22 WHQL drivers out today from NVIDIA, primarily for BioShock Infinite, but there's no mention anywhere that they have a fix for the SLI issue in Trials Evolution Gold Edition. Not that I was holding my breath for them or anything anyway as I suspect NVIDIA will never fix this issue properly in a driver update but we'll see...
In the meantime, I've been able to actually play the game without disabling SLI by forcing SFR rendering in a custom game profile and it works well except for occasional stuttering/odd moment of slowdown on the more elaborate tracks and a long black screen during the initial load where there should be loading screens. Once the title screen appears then the game works as expected although I would have expected perfect performance on my setup, given that this is essentially a port from the Xbox 360. At least I can now play the game without having to use a clumsy workaround or wait for a fix from NVIDIA that will likely never come.
Oh and the game is absolutely excellent and loads of fun to play so it really is a shame that these performance issues exist for SLI users.
I am still getting stuttering on most of the out door tracks, some of the HD indoor one's to. It seems after the new update tracks that previously worked without any stuttering are getting it now. It's odd because some tracks will run smooth at 60 fps, while others will not. Any track I download will have the same issue, but if I jump into the editor zoom around quickly, make a huge track, use lots of objects, triggers effects there is no video problems that occur.
Thanks for all the feedback! It has been really helpful in identifying the problems in performance. We are currently testing a potential fix for the frame rate issues. Looks good so far. Hopefully it works on all platforms, and can be included in the forthcoming patch. I will keep you informed.
Will this patch also fix the nat problems many people (including me) are having? Any eta on this?Originally Posted by sebbbi
I personally know only about graphics/performance related issues. When there's more information available, I am sure ShiftySamurai or CannibalShogun will post list of all the other fixes planned for the patch.Originally Posted by carlese
Hi guys, I brought the GOLD edition on PC today, having already played the game on Xbox 360.
The PC version is nowhere near as smooth or optimised as the Xbox version.
I'm experiencing the same issues as a lot of people, low framerate and stutters, even with all options low or off.
My System Specs:
Windows 8 (64-bit)
Intel Core i7-3770
16GB Ram
Geforce GT 640
SP: Hill Climb Skillgame glitches
I just noticed something, not sure if it's related to the 314.22WHQL driver though:
Tabbing out messes the game up really bad when doing the Hill Climb Skillgame.
It slows down to a crawl, stuttering, displaying the image way too late compared to the sound and throws graphics glitches - even when set to windowed mode.
Other maps work fine after that, but if I load Hill Climb again - same problems.
Also tabbing out of other maps don't effect them at all it seems (just now I only tested 2 others, but never had problems on others before).
Alt-tabbing in a menu doesn't effect the Hill Climb, it's just during the track if I tab all hell breaks loose like after-images of the loading squirrel and the countdown, the black bar with the description staying, the Escape-menu graphics glitching and the aforementioned stutters/freezes.
Can't take a SS of it, since FRAPS doesn't capture the bugs and keeps displaying 60 fps, so here's a potato-cam video.
Steps to reproduce:
-Start SP Hill Climb Skillgame
-Alt-tab to desktop, tab back in
-Graphics glitches and stutters
-Restarting the track or playing another track (which don't display the problem) doesn't fix the Hill Climb Skillgame-issues
Frequency: 10/10
System specs:
i7-2600K
16 GB RAM
Win 8 Pro 64bit
Nvidia GeForce TITAN
DxDiag
@ ShiftySamurai Can u say when u will release the fix?
amazing. thats all we wanted to know.. now i can happily play the levels that work knowing that i can come back to the glitchy 1's when all fixedOriginally Posted by sebbbi![]()
This is good newsOriginally Posted by sebbbi.. I hope this fix all problems with stuttering and framerate drops in all stages with really deep backgrounds
If you ask me.. I even prefer to have really limited backgrounds but my game running at 60 fps no matter what.. this game is meant to be played at 60 fps.. looks so good when it does and the gameplay is just so fun
