I just have a little suggestion to RedLynx:

It would be cool if you would do some speed difference option, so:

Pressing 1 key will be 1/3 speed, pressing 2 key would be 2/3 speed and pressing 3 key would be full speed,
then we can have analog acceleration.

Just to say, I would do it and the breaking I would change it to the spacebar.

More seriously, i never got used to using a gamepad. Even SuperMeatBoy that was suggesting one each time you start the game, i tried to play and failed hard. Did all my nodeath runs, until hospital dark, with keyboard.

EDIT: It's a nice suggestion though. Maybe controlling the speed with the mouse wheel, like you were doing in one Splinter Cell. In Chaos Theory i think.

I've never been a fan of gamepads, and like you mentioned, Super Meat Boy for me was all about the keyboard. Have all no death speedruns except 3 (Rapture Dark + both Cotton Alley) with the keyboard, and I'm not going to change to a pad at any time soon.

That said, this is one of those games that derives extra benefit from the analogous controls (unlike SMB which has a binary left or right, +/- sprint). I'll probably end up giving it a go with the keyboard (and may come to love it yet, never know!), but I did buy an x360 controller just for this game irrespective.

Some riders on Evo use the d-pad and do some impressive runs so I can see some will get along with keyboard just fine
