So I've just tried the PS3's Urban Trials demo
And I was not impressed. They have tried to make it similar to the Trials tracks, with a fast route. Obviously I was only able to use the initial bike which I would compare to the 2nd bike in Trials, sluggish and heavy, but I was still able to grasp a good understanding of the rider controls, which, may I add, have you using the X and Square buttons for throttle and brake, making throttle control practically none existent - although the PS3 does have sexy pressure sensitive buttons.
It's a shame I couldn't approach this game with an open mind but I still made an effort to keep my opinion unbiased during play. It has no originality, basically because RL beat them to it several years ago. The rider is heavy and unresponsive, and the bike appears to leave contact with the ground for no good reason, bearing in mind the bike is as heavy as a lead weight. Customisation is available, changing the stats of the bike and obviously creating an unfair advantage to the leaderboards - which appears to be a big deal as you are racing the number 1 player's time even on the tutorial, a time which was probably achieved using the best bike fully upgraded. There is no editor and what, 20 to 30 tracks which completely lack any kind of flow - with things obstructing your path and falling onto the driving line, it even had me stopping and reversing half way through one of the tracks.
All in all this game is abysmal at best, and really makes me appreciate the complexity and accuracy of the Trials physics engine.
