    Future of gaming?

Lots of people have been saying that over the next few years consoles will start to cease, personally i hope they don't; PC and Phones will dominate, i can't get my around why people choose small toilet or "waiting" games (Phone games) over a nice couch console or hardcore PC, phones could be destroying some of the game industry, specifially consoles, but in other ways changing it for a new direction.

As long as the physical or motion games evolve into working things that are smooth and offer a new experience, like you can really be in a battle swinging a sword with ease and excitment and get a good feel for it, i'd be happy for it to stay, it would certainly get your arms working.

What do you guys think or know, agree with disagree with etc?

I say console will be the most popular when it comes to gaming because people ( including me) are lazy, and playing on console is way easier. And by the looks of it. Console is catching up with PC.

True, but if PCs don't exist anymore, then how are developers creating games?

Well right now we need PC's for a lot of things. I'm not saying that PC's need to go. I'm just saying that for gaming, consoles will dominate.

I would guess that in the long term gaming will be on streaming based hardware-independant subscription services. But that day isnt anytime soon as the infrustructure just isn't there, it will be gradually phased in if it does happen. It may work through a downloadable app, be built into various licenced devices or via a web browser or who knows what other forms...all of the above and more. Not much power is needed on the user end and could be accessible through almost any kind of connected hardware from TVs, PCs, Mobile devices etc...

Sums up the unveiling nicely. Will be a similar scenario with the Xbox too.
I'm not getting next gen consoles any time soon, i'll wait a few years and by the time I get one everything will be cheap & there may be 5 or 6 good games available, if i'm lucky.
And this is two generations now where they have not added more buttons to the pads buttons that actually have a purpose.

Nevermind, the classic games of the 90's and early 00's are eternal.

Speaking of classics, let's go all the way back to 1991 with Streets of Rage! Or 2011 with this free indie overhaul remake i've just found:

    8 years in development.

I have this, didn't know you were a fan. Streets of Rage 2 (until this) was my favourite scrolling beat 'em up of all time. Glad you posted this as I didn't know there was a GP2X port, will have to grab that
