I just have read these interesting (Rumor) articles with the next xbox console, that the kinect will have better resolution, the console greater compatibility with a nice price etc.

But what I don't like is this, when it is real: Next Xbox To Have Always Online DRM [Rumor]

So, what do you think about the next gen console?

Disclaimer; I own ps3 and xbox and favour neither

With sony announcing ps4 yesterday I think they have really pulled out all stops to tip the scales their way in the next gen war. The console looks powerful, games look amazing and they have secured some tight exclusi es especially with blizzard to release diablo 3 on ps3 and ps4. The controller looks ingenious...you can stream gameplay and friends can watch as an audience....you can play the same save files across different consoles...its mind boggling.

It will be interesting to see what microsoft have in the bag...because I know one thing....as soon as I csn preorder a ps4 ill be doing just that (then probably end up buying the new xbox and having a backlog all the time like I have this gen)

Im reluctant to wade in on the xbox opinion until they give us firm facts.

For me to buy a game console of the next generation, depending on which games will have, not buy blind as I always have, because I have the PS3 the dusty and do not want to happen with future consoles, I think I get a bit cheaper I upgrade the PC because it sony shown yesterday at the conference, you can move easily into a decent PC. And frankly, the only game I play on the console is the Trials, and also how to output on PC, I have to worry just have a decent controller to play it.

Share videos from consoles with Facebook? no thanks ... not if the rumor is true permanent connection, if so, to forget my sony both as microsoft.

And also because I will not fanciest eg 60 € or 70 € (here in Spain) for a game of 3 hours duration. If eventually get the same game on PC, comes much cheaper.

That is my opinion of the New Generation, i do not trust them.

the spectating/streaming thing is a big deal imo, and could really hit xbox hard if it doesnt have a similar feature.
and now that Trials is with Ubi and is more likely to appear on Playstation, Microsoft will have to put forward a pretty solid case to keep me on board.

I hear rumors that the next xbox will require kinect to function. It will have facial recognition and will always be on. I have my current kinect turned around and disabled unless My kids wanna play a kinect game... which is never. Even my 5 and 3 year olds prefer buttons. Plus I dont want a camera that is always on and watching my family at all times.

If these rumors are true, microsoft can kiss my money goodbye... Sony's next iteration is looking badass.

i would prefer to stay with xbox because my backlog and i hope i can keep playing my current games on it

i just hope xbox doesn't **** up and make stupid deciscions

I honestly hope they are near enough the same and instead it's a choice of what you prefer xbox or PS4 rather than which is superior, i want both to be as good as each other so theres good competition, then i have the easy decision of the xbox.

I will be sticking with the next gen Xbox regardless of how good the PS4 is. My main reason is and always has been the controller. I do not like the design and never will.

Is that the only reason? Just the controller?

To be honest, yes. I never liked the feel of the PS controller. The joystick placement always felt odd to me. I did notice the new controller's handles seem to resemble the xbox so I might give this one a try. I will have to try it out a lot before I decide to drop that kind of money on a gaming machine.

The new controller looks a bit bigger and much better.+ the triggers looks like they're made for trials. *Cough* *cough* Redlynx!

If Kinect must be always watching you, then why don't you just turn it around too just like you are now doing it? If MS really want to do this for video watcher limits, you can cheat it too easily with the kinect sensor. Just like on DC2 (Dance central 2), it has and achievement that you need to win 20 dance battles that you'll need two players, I just place a chair with some poles on it and Kinect will recognise it as a player, and now you can move a bit around and you'll have more points than the chair and win 20 dance battles.
So, Kinect is easily cheatable with recognition and turning the sensor around!
