sadly plastic guitar gaming is officialy dead now harmonix announced they are stopping official rockband dlc(RBN still continues for 360)![]()
now us rythm gamer guitarheads have nothing left but rocksmith and "soon" bandfuse
lol u can always try ure hand at "DJ Hero"![]()
Trust me its nothing like real dj`ing .... n more like guitar hero .... or Amplitude if u remember that![]()
I'll still keep playing Rock Band 3. Also, I've still got about 6 GB worth of Frets on Fire music that I haven't played. I know it's not quite the same, but it's still pretty fun.
When rockband took over guitar hero is when I stopped playin that game competitively at all. I still think warriors of rock was sick.
Rock Band will forever and always be better than Guitar Hero. It was made by MUSICIANS not just a gaming company.Originally Posted by ClutchMystaFlex
RIP Rock Band. One of my favorite games ever, a hobby and lifestyle back in the day. I play once in awhile here and there and prob will until all my instruments die. 1,500+ songs. Best value game for all the time I got out of it (also Trials of course)
Whos to know they wont come back and make a few songs here and there. Harmonix is still a comp, if they think they can make money from it, I'm sure they will do it! 5 years of weekly DLC is a hell of a run, and I'll be damned if another company could ever match that amount of commitment!
Well, new songs will still be released on the Rock Band Network on the Xbox 360. However, there is already over 4000 additional songs available for Rock Band and there's a lot of songs I still have to buy. The discontinuation of the weekly Harmonix DLC is sad, but not a "game-breaker." People will still have Rock Band gatherings/ parties for years to come. I know I will.
I'd rather play a game made by a gaming company. I've never given a **** about the music because it was never anything I was interested in, so I always preferred Guitar Hero because the core of the game felt more solid.Originally Posted by Jarr3tt88
Although looking at the DLC, it looks like there was a single Death Metal one for Rock Band, so I might check that out sometime if I ever get back into music games.
Harmonix is a gaming company comprised of musicians. Also, don't forget that Guitar Hero 1 and 2 were made by Harmonix. There's far more Death Metal on Rock Band than is on GH. Hell, 90% of what's on the RBN is death metal and there's over 2000 songs on RBN.Originally Posted by PenguinFTW
Jarr is right. RB got people genuinely interested in playing real instruments and to a degree, RB3 can teach you to play the real thing. I remember reading an article somewhere that stated that drum class enrollment exploded after RB came out.
Rocksmith can teach you how to play an actual guitar.... And not in the round about way that RB3 teaches it with the "Pro Guitar" controller.
