I enjoyed this track and there was nothing wrong with it. But for some reason it felt very "flat" as if there was little atmosphere to it. Which I cant figure out, because it has plenty of detail and everything, goo dlighting, goo dline, good everything. But it just felt like it was missing something. Still, it was a good fun ride with plenty to look at along the way, so its a very minor niggle! Thought for sure i had escaped at the end, only to be lasered.![]()

It's set in space, Barry - of course there's very little atmosphere!Originally Posted by Barrybarfly![]()
I need to give your tracks a go, Fernanjoe, I've heard lots of good things! Looking forward to giving them all a blast over the course of this week.
I think it was the black sky with no stars. Dunno. I spent another 30mins playing it again after anyway just because its fun!Originally Posted by L0RDMelchett![]()
well, ive got to admit that becuase of it being in the WCC tracks for this week, i cant turn it off..i love tracks that grab your attention and suck you right in..this is one of them tracks for sure...i think its cos of the pure, nice flow that can be found...
Cheers guys. Glad people are enjoying it.
I know what you mean about the atmosphere, i wanted the red planet/sun to be in the backround and so that meant the natural light angle was a bit low, that and the greyness of the land texture. I prob should have put some more custom terrain texures in to break it up a bit. I totally agree with your thread about the importance of lighting in tracks. I think i find lighting the trickyest part to nail.Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
