What does the Wrench icon mean?

Some people's names have started to have a wrench icon next to them. At first I thought this was their online rank but I do not have anything next to my name. I see these on Leaderboards and Track Author.

This spanner thing kills me. It's a wrench! A spanner doesn't even sound like it would make sense.
It's crazy that England is a lot like the U.S., yet we manage to differ on certain words quite dramatically.

its just a word, does it matter that we call crisps and chips crisps and chips where as Americans say potato chips and fries instead, its basically just different languages, you can see for yourself what the symbol is so why worry about what we call it over here just call it as you see it, have you heard of the saying "throw a spanner into the works"? well this is basically what people are doing by causing a problem where there isn't 1, its no problem just a different pronunciation

Its only a problem if YOU make it one Smeg, you spanner!

errm NO you must misunderstand, he said "This spanner thing kills me. It's a wrench! A spanner doesn't even sound like it would make sense". therefor it is he who has a problem with it, i was merely stating that there should be no problem as it is just words, from this thread it appears that i am the only 1 without a problem in this matter, you even went into full defense mode displaying an english dictionary to express your feelings towards his comments which demonstrates that you have the problem, like i said there is no problem it is just another language, now a mole hill has been turned into a mounting and for the record i rly do not care what people want to call it because i do not have a problem with something so petty, let him call it what he wants and you also, the problem lies where more then 1 person want to call it something different and are not willing to accept what the other calls it. bottom line .... get over it

Re: What does the Wrench icon mean?

    Sheesh!!!!!!!!!!
You people take everything so litterally.

It was meant as a joke between UK & US, THATS ALL. (in response to previous comment)

But just for the record you can call it whatever you want, i really dont give a ****.
and if you were that bothered why didnt you answer the original guys question instead of waiting to analyse & pick fault with what someone else has written?.
    (that was defensive)

Re: What does the Wrench icon mean?

ok maybe that seemed over the top, all was doing 1st was posting to instantnews saying why does it bother you when there is no need, then i felt like somehow you were saying it was me who was bothered by this so i just wanted to express that i wasnt part of the - its a wrench - no its a spanner argument i was simply trying to resolve it by saying there is no problem just language differences, maybe my wording is bad but i meant no foul

and the original question had been answered allready so why the need for me to answer again,

basically i am not trying to start an argument but somehow one has started from me trying to make peace by saying there is no problem, like i said before - a mounting out of a mole hill
