Here is a thread where you can rage about anything, crashing on the last obstacle of WOTN on a 0f run of TYM or about that jerk that cut you off on the expressway this morning.
I just crashed on the second to last tire of Inferno 3 on three possible platinum runs for me.![]()

Cities XL Platinum was just released. Each year, the same game gets re-released, except with a few new objects (so few, in fact, that you may have a hard time even noticing what's been added). Basically, it's a DLC pack, but it's packaged as an entirely new standalone game (at least they price it like DLC for people who already own the previous game, so that's a plus).
However, if you buy the new iteration every year, you end up with multiple copies of the exact same game in your Steam library that are basically worthless, because they lack the new DLC content. While that kind of bugs me, what I find really annoying is the fact that with each new release the developers make absolutely no effort to fix the game-breaking bugs, memory leaks, and performance issues that have plagued the game since its inception.
For instance, the game engine (from 2009) doesn't have multi-core processor support, and it needs it BADLY. I have never been able to grow my city large enough to start building skyscrapers, because before I get to that point, the game starts lagging so much that it becomes unplayable. My quad-core i7 is apparently a bottleneck for this game.
So, this time I'm saying no to the "new" Sh*ties XL, even at its bargain-bin pricepoint of $5. Here's hoping for a brighter future for city-building sims with the new Sim City, although hearing about the always-on DRM was like inviting a good old friend to a party, only to find out that he stopped using deodorant.
I'm super excited for SimCity. I'm only slightly bothered that it wants me to have an internet connection. I understand why it's recommended, and I'm sure I would have played the recommended way 99% of the time, but if the Time Warner net goes down, as it always does, it will be very annoying.
Hoping to see it on steam, but that's a wish I doubt will be fulfilled in the near future.
I already had to install Origin for Mass Effect 3, so it doesn't bother me too much that it won't be on Steam. I add links to all of my non-Steam games into my Steam library anyway, because I hate having to keep track of whether I got my games from Steam, Desura, Origin, Uplay, or retail.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai
