Hey Riders! Sometimes you see a skill game and think, "Yeah, I bet a bit of time went into that" and then you play for a bit and never think about it again.
Well, let's change that! I'm giving you a behind the scenes look at some of the tracks and skill games found in RedLynx Creations (with permission!). So get your metal hat on, cause some of this stuff might just blow your mind.
Evonoid:
I got mutetus to give me a few words about Evonoid, and this is all I could pry out of him.
How long does it take to make a skill game like Evonoid?
Hmm, let me think. I started making it when I got back from vacation. I had done some testing, but this I started on January 2nd. It was finished about three weeks from that, of course there were other projects going on at the same time. I’d say it took about 15 days. [Evonoid released on Track Central on January 29th]
How did you decide to create a brick-breaking skill game?
For the challenge, to properly test the new vector tools, and to push the editor even further. I needed to do something more than munch-man and test by making actual levels.
As we can see from the image, and video, there is a lot happening behind the scenes. How much of what happens on the screen is physics-based, and how much is done with the new vector tools?
The only physics part of this game is me walking home after each day from work. It's all done with animations and custom coding all collisions with the editor.
You have made a few recreations of retro games, do you have any more ideas that you want to bring to life in Trials Evolution’s track editor?
Yeah, like all of the retro games, they're all a challenge but given that they're made in late 80's means the logic should fit into Trials Evolution.
Stax:
Another amazing puzzle game from mutetus! In Stax the goal is to stack blocks in rows of 3 or more, horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Check it out now on the RedLynx Creations Feed.
What's Stax?*
Probably the most awesome looking mini game in track central so far.
What do you have to do?*
Play it.
Why Stax and how long did it take?
Seemed like a nice, quickly accomplishable goal and I liked the game back in the days. I started making Stax a week ago on monday so it took 8 days. Of course I have other things to do there as well, but I had nicely time to put it together.

Have a question? Go ahead and ask it. Hopefully these guys will be able to give a response when their schedules allow.

He must be like Neo. He sees EVERYTHING in code!![]()
I'm gonna agree with that...Originally Posted by Barrybarflymutetus, if you have a moment, could you tell us, can you turn code vision on and off at will? Or is it just like, code, always and everywhere. I see a bowl of cereal and you see ten pages of coding kind of thing?...
