LB or Lstick places the platform near the back of your bike and RB or Rstick places it near the front; It appears at the same angle of your bike and a bit lower. There is an arrow in front of you that always points towards the next checkpoint.

Kinda, except you have just 1 platform that you can place unlimited times! It's gotten a lot of plays now, an average of 4 stars and I got platinum with 25 & 0:45 seconds
