Just got this game recently and already beat it two times. It is probably the best RPG of this generation.
If you don't know what it is, it is very similar to Dragon Age 2, and it is also a trillion billion times better. Pretty much every part of it is amazing: graphics, gameplay, music, story, characters. It is also the one of the few games that has actual choices instead of just an illusion. A choice made about a third through the game will COMPLETELY change the rest of it. It is almost two games in one.
If you are into RPG's, then this is a must-have game!!!
Better than Dark Souls?
Anyway I've seen the games you like, similar-ish tastes, so this will probably be up my street. But I've heard many times the gameplay is average whilst everything else is amazing.
But I've been meaning to check it out for myself so soon it shall be played.

About the gameplay, it is actually pretty similar to Dark Souls. I would say it is a watered down version of it. Certainly not nearly as good, but still good compared to most other RPG's. But since this game is much more RPG-ish than Dark Souls, the story and such help to make up for any lackluster gameplay.
About Dark Souls as an RPG, all it's missing is extensive NPC & world interaction. I certainly classify it an RPG. an Action RPG, but still RPG.
Upsetting about Witcher. Gameplay first for me. Still will give it a go sometime.

To be fair anything is better than DAII, but Witcher 2 is a solid game. Played the PC version primarily, bought the 360 version and Didnt play it much. Comes highly recommended from me for sure.Originally Posted by buttcheekofdeth

I was majorly hyped for witcher 2 and honestly thought it was one of the most overrated games ive played. It was far too linear, the story was substandard once it got going too. The combat was ok but overall as a big rpg fan I found it average and gave up during act 3 as it failed to hold my interest.
