Track claiming to give 4000MSP for 0-fault

This post is concerning an issue with a user track called "4000 MP's" (and now "4000's MP2"). It is addressed mainly to RedLynx but it affects the community; I am looking for your opinions on this sort of behavior and what you think ought to be done about players like this (if anything could be done).

J0shi0 created a difficult track called "4000 MP's" that states in the description that he is willing to pay 4,000 Microsoft Points to anyone who can 0 fault his track. The track has an auto-death spots, one being part of the track (that can be bypassed).

DJDarky was the first to zero-fault, followed by myself (with a faster time), and then 2 others - Twist91785 and TURTLEWAX85. Since then I have beaten my time by 30 seconds and am currently at the top spot. I have sent J0shi0 2 messages; one asking about the reward and the second inquiring about the delay. I have been in contact with the other 3 players and they are also awaiting a response.

    ==========

    January 25, 4:19 am
J0shi0 has been online twice in the last 24 hours, and played Trials at least once since I first contacted him. His last message to me says:

"Well done m8, I'll check tonight" and is dated January 23rd at 4:07 am.

I will contact him again, as well as the other players to see if they've heard anything.

    January 25, sometime
J0shi0 releases a second track titled "4000's MP2" and states in the description that in order to win the 4,000 Microsoft Points, the player must 0-fault and earn the top medal in BOTH of these tracks. Sounds to me like he's trying to add more rules so as not to pay up..

    January 25, 5:40 am
I not only 0-fault this second track, but beat the top time by 51 seconds. At this moment in history I am the "TOP MEDAL & 0 FAULTS" on both tracks. According to the new rules, I an teh winnar! I promptly send him a new message to let him know (video time 4:50). J0shi0 was online just 6 minutes prior to this message.

    January 27, evening
Suspecting that the names of the contestants have been blocked, a friend sends J0shi0 a new message asking about the 4,000 mp purse on my behalf.

    January 28, 8:40 am
J0shi0 was last seen online 4 hours ago, playing Black Ops 2. Neither myself nor my friend have received a reply.

Well RedLynx, what do you think? Fishing for DL's and ratings with the false promise of a reward.. do you condone this type of track promotion? What ought to be done about this situation? He can't be forced to pay up but he can lose his upload privileges, maybe wipe all his track records? Where does this behavior fit in Microsoft's TOS?
They are good tracks, shame the creator isn't.

Being mislead is what the topic is about - what's more serious: a thread hinting about a prize, or a track promising one?

Re: You could win 4,000 Microsoft Points

The description for the first track says that he is "willing to offer 4000msp to anyone who passes the track with 0 faults" so you could potentially win 4,000 if you aced his track.

I would say both are equal. You're kinda doing to everyone what the track maker is doing to you.

Would the moderator who changed the topic name please step forwards and post here? It was not misleading.
    "You could win.."

IF you 0-fault AND get the top-medal AND the fastest time. By changing it to "Track claiming.." you remove the seriousness of the issue. The original title gets your hopes up, just as the tracks do. You get to feel exactly how those that tried and competed did while they were participating and you feel the same way that we do after being mislead. What are you willing to allow people get away with on Track Central! Report the track and he'll just upload more. There was once a map where you had sex with a doll, the map was removed but the account still exists. Based on the replies so far, J0shi0 could post a bunch more of these without repercussions.

So vladiiiiiiii's "4000 msp AND a custom Xbox360 controller designed by the winner" is probably fake?
How about the 49 entrants, what would you say to them? "Tough luck your own fault, vladiii's in the clear!"
What would be your attitudes if A7XfoREVer531, Acritarch, vladiiiiiiii or ANDYBMXBandit decided not to own up to their prizes, would you ignore that? Over 50 people taken for a ride for lulz, would you give them the same credit? I don't think so, because more than a handful of people would be cheated, possibly because the hosts are more popular, and hopefully not just because they posted it on the forum - not everyone knows these things exist you know.

We can't make you ban, or punish J0shi0 for his charade.. but a friggin apology or at least an explanation from him would suffice. -.-

What if I put "I'll give you a million dollars if you beat my track" in my track description, are you gonna lawyer up and come after me in a civil suit once you beat my track and I don't pony up a million dollars? I think you're over-reacting to a track creator just trying to ruse people for downloads and plays. Seriously, let it go. Delete thread ^ This is dumb.

Re: Track claiming to give 4000MSP for 0-fault

I have never heard of this kind of tracks but now its quite obvious this had to come. People start to advertise their tracks in every way.

Call me old fashioned, but I think the best advertisement is still a great riding-line and a creative design.

The only thing you can do about such "scammers" is not even download their tracks.

On the internet (and I think this also applies to video games) there is one rule for shure:
If something sounds too good to be true its a scam...
