As you guys are undoubtedly aware, broken replays have been a culprit of Trials since HD. So i would like to share some tips for crashed+corrupted replays in 2 separate videos and a bit of text description/breakdown on each one.
Crashed replays- this is when the rider crashes randomly on a track while the controller inputs are still being processed until the time that you had originally finished on that track. To fix- view the replay, leave it running for 30 minutes (you may speed up the process by holding down fast foward) and when the replay reloads, it will be in working form for as long as it loops until you exit the replay. I have tested this personally along with a few other people and can confirm this works for MOST replays. The one exception being that this did not work for Murdoc's run on Execution. Edit- after more testing, i can confirm this most likely will work with tracks made after the 1st DLC title update- most tracks made before that do not work- still test it to make sure because you never know.
^^This should come in handy if you want to record a custom track with crashed replays, need a visual reference for skill games, etc etc. Credit to A7XfoREVer531 for bringing this up.
Corrupted replays- in most cases, this is when faults exceed 100+ or time exceeds 10 minutes and the replay will simply not load from the leaderboards- Press X right after finishing your run and then you will be able to see the replay of the run you just had gotten. This may be common knowledge, but we all have become dependent on viewing replays straight from the leaderboards. This is a really handy feature that needs to be made of use more often. However, if you press A after finishing and continue to the race result screen, you will have to re-do your run if you want the replay.
^^Not really a bypass, but a further reference for getting a working replay on a long and/or high fault run if you want to save it. Credit to TBNSoty for sharing this one with me.
For easier tracks, like say medium and under, it may be a good idea to run the "end event" after like 5 minutes. I dont know, it could cause problems if a beginner doesnt finish in time.
Hopefully Redlynx can use this information to finally eliminate the broken replay problem.
So would this work on Speed Freak?
Yes.Originally Posted by ChicagoAJ

keep deleting the track and re-downloading it until the replay works, thats what i usually do but like i said nothing is ever set in stone
So I guess this means it doesn't work on all replays. Sorry you waited 30 minutes for nothing.Originally Posted by MurdocLoch
I literally tested this on most Skill Games, and all of the past customs that ive had broken replays on and they all worked for me. I am sorry to hear about this man. Have you tried deleting it and redownloading the track and tryin the 30 minute trick again? Please let me know if that still doesnt work for you.Originally Posted by MurdocLoch
I am in the process of making a video on this right now. I guess ill just have to go with it being a 99% chance of a working replay.
maybe something along the lines of loading the world that the track was made from 1st before you go into TC might help prevent a broken replay happening? just a long shot but if re-downloading the track sometimes works maybe this could work tooBut determining which world a track is from is another matter
This is what ive done too, i didnt think anything of it but now that you mention it, this is why i always load to play a track first just to get the 'loading world' out of the way, then i pause and quit out and watch replays from there. Subconsciously, this is probably what ive done when attempting the 30 minute trick on all replays ive watched and maybe why it has worked for me. Be sure to try that too Murdoc.Originally Posted by smeghead89
The reason i do that is because watching replays before loading the proper world has always result in a console freeze for me, ever since the Origin of Pain DLC.
