I've seen quite a few of you saying you'll be buying Gold Edition even though you have both the originals on Xbox. Why? I'm perfectly content with relaxing in my recliner and inviting some of my Xbox friends to a private match. I understand that if you don't have an Xbox, Gold is like a dream come true, but, and maybe it's just me, I don't see why you would prefer to hunch in front of your computer and play Trials. It's a smaller screen and a completely different control scheme if you're using a keyboard.
Again, I think Gold Edition is a great idea, and I know two of my non-Xbox friends that are planning on getting it immediately on its release date, but why buy it if you already have both Trials games on Xbox?
Possible enhanced performance ( faster loads, fewer bugs...) and easier to use editor.
Because starting up the xbox just to play a game is too much effort. Also I hate the controller. Also the xbox sucks lol
1- I can use a XBOX 360 pad on my computer, or whatever gamepad suits my preference.
2- I am not hunched over, I use a DLP projector to play games on my PC and XBOX, PCs aren't limited to PC monitors anymore.
3- I can carry it on my laptop wherever I want, my 360... not so much
4- We can be 2 people to play 2 different Trials tracks at the same time in my living room. (well 3 with the laptop)
5- If I have something like 15 minutes to kill, I wouldn't even think to fire up the XBOX because it's such a slowpoke to start a game, but on my PC I click and go, no need to wait 10 minutes before I actually play.
6- Different community, different friends, different customs
7- The ability to play tracks of both Evo and HD without switching games.
That's it for starters, I see more but that was the gist of it.
i was looking forward to playing in bed .or on the move .. its the portability bit that's cool .. just take your laptop and you can play .. i cant carry my 50" tv![]()
I heard they're building it specifically for the PC, so I expect that the maps will be able to be a LOT more intricate and detailed. Especially the physics. The editor will probably be easier to use (kb + m), You can use any controller you want as long as you can bind the keys, better graphics, better connectivity (hopefully) and just about anything that comes with being able to develop for hardware several times better than what's in the 360
I hadn't even considered the mobility, that's a great point. I don't have a computer good enough to play games and stuff so I won't be getting it, despite that point.
This I can't see happening. I was under the impression they're just putting the Trials games we know and love on PC, not improving them. Anything affecting gameplay should stay completely the same imo, though bug fixes are obviously something that they would change.Originally Posted by Darkholme

-Updates don't have to go through MicroSoft certification process. (A rigidly structured process that can take a long time)
-XBOXes and XBOX LIVE on the 360 aren't forever, at some point it's good to know that they won't shut down the servers and your PC won't RROD on you. If you still want to play Evo and HD in a few years, then PC is your answer.

That tells me they're gonna improve the tools and the game because the hardware allows for more to be done.Optimized and Enhanced for PC
Trials Evolution: Gold Edition will be optimized and enhanced for the PC gaming platform. All of the features of its forerunners – from the in-game editor, player sharing of tracks, and global Leader Boards, will be re-integrated into the game in a way that fits the new platform.
