After a great deal of work, testing, feedback, more testing, several beers and some dodgy curry, the final of Sea To Peaks is up renamed Peaceful Village...
Heavily modified. Springs gone. Entire end shortened and changed. Start extended and difficulty dropped from hard to medium - all be probably at the hard end of medium.
Track starts off fast and flowing along the beach side but the pace slowly drops off as you climber higher and higher up the mountain and into the damp dank rocky forest.
Please rate HONESTLY and any feedback/comments are always appreciated...

Track starts out relatively easy but gets more difficult as you go.
i know medal times are out a bit....well...a lot....
Need feedback please before I go too much further...
Had a few rounds on it and i can say i quite enjoeyed it, the difficulty was well balanced through the track and it had a decent flow. I didn't mind the elevator ,but others may not enjoy it, The plywood that connects the elevator to the platform pissed me off a little tho cause it would screw me over if i started too soon.
The spring platforms are nice but not quite consistent, my rider liked to get stuck into the bike and obiviously die, so i would recommend moving the platforms to have them less angled or temporarly raise the bike's and rider's hit points. This are my thoughts on it for now, I'll edit the post if i have more to tell.
thanks mate. i spent ages trying to get the springs to work properly however i do find it difficult. I need to do something instead of the timber elevator i know but am short on ideas. i think portals are a bit...overused....
The springs need a lot of kick for the height so tend to ef up the rider a bit - Ill try a changing the rider HP. Thanks Stiggyhead
Plywood is totally unecessary on the lift, its just a hinderance imo.Originally Posted by stiggyhead
Springs are inconsistent and dont really fit with the rest of the track in any way imo.
Starting camera is plain awful, I'd leave it default. Again, imo.
But the middle of the track was ok. One obsatcle (before lift) is slightly harder than the rest imo, but thats all.
Deco was ok, but lacked a bit of atmosphere, I'm guessing that will come as the track prgresses though.
Overall it was ok, but needs work to be a 4* track, let alone 5* to be totally honest with you. But thats fine, it is only a beta after all.![]()
I have to agree with Barry (shh, don't tell himOriginally Posted by Barrybarfly): assuming you are OK with constructive criticism I have the following -
- Springs are odd (and annoying/inconsistent for me anyway) in the track;
- I personally cannot stand lifts in tracks, it wrecks any flow you create (others might disagree!);
- Starting camera makes me feel giddy, not sure why there was a need to change from the default one;
- Plywood without careful custom collisions can be a nightmare;
- Decor was reasonable, but if it were possible to create more atmosphere with extra work that would be great;
- I did have fun on the other sections of the track, it does show some promise.
Good luck with the full release.
Timber lift has been removed. I've replaced it with a very quick catapult. So, ply after lift has been removed also.
I'm iffie about how to get the rider from the bottom of the springs to the end platform. The springs took me ages. I know they're crap. Any ideas?
I know there is a lot to fix with the cameras and overall environment. Before all that I needed your feedback and yes, constructive is what I'm after. Thankyou all.
Good on you for taking the input the way it was intended: constructive.Originally Posted by AussieNufMan
Certainly keep the essence of what you like about the track, rather than try and lose that: we offer our opinions, none of us are the oracle of track buildingbut many of us do play an awful lot of tracks on TC.
Maybe if you need to keep the springs you can change the angle to help prevent the rider crashing when flung? Maybe you could shorten the end of the track, or extend the start?
I'm not personally a fan of physics tbh. So I'm bound to say stick with a hillclimb style and ride up to the platform! lol But I appreciate thats not everyone's style/taste. so I dont really have a solution for you.![]()
I'm surprised you prefer climbing a hill at your age... thought you'd always prefer a lift. Lol.Originally Posted by Barrybarfly
Anyway... back on topic...
I know this probably isn't what you want to hear mate, but id suggest scrapping the springs entirely and making the rest of the climb out of obstacles. Im not a fan of physics, but the game just doesn't work well with physics/collisions...the randomness is of the bad kind where you feel how well you do on the track is taken out of your hands. Then there's the chance of glitching through objects etc. I do that enough on built in tracks as it is.Originally Posted by AussieNufMan
