After years of faithful service, my sexy fat PS3 finally got the Yellow Light of Death. Not having much luck with consoles this generation this is my 2nd PS3 and Im up to Xbox number 6!
I have had my Xbox for 5 years and I haven't had any problems.
I have ran with the xbox arcade version for about 4 years now, and have had no RRoD or any problems with it. I don't understand what kills the xbox so fast that people need more than 1 or 2 over the course of the generation.
When my 360 RRoD'd 4 years ago, I got the Jasper unit as a free replacement, and haven't had any issues since then. I think most of the people having issues with their replacement 360s were tricked into getting the older models.
Its a lottery mate, some people get lucky some don't with both ps3 and 360 (the early models at least) is too much high powered hardware in a confined space with inadequate cooling. The later models are refined, draw less power and tend to have better cooling...its what happens when hardware is rushed to manufacture...you get high failure rates.Originally Posted by InstantNews
With me Im the sort of person who takes extremely good care of all my property, never had this kind of hardware trouble before. Just got hammered this generation.
I hope some of your good luck rubs off on me for next generationOriginally Posted by A7XfoREVer531![]()
Actually I forget to mention my first Xbox when I accidentally melted the disc reader. This was my fault though. I got it a few days after release and played it for about a week. I went on vacation for 6 days and when I got back I realized I had left it on the entire time. Every time I put a disc in it it would still say "open tray" instead of "play ____".Originally Posted by D2Dahaka
I had one RRoD 'd xbox and it didn't even had the time to overheat, i remember that i turned it on and after 30 seconds or so it froze and at the restart, boom, it died![]()
