A little help with the physics joint

Hello, I've never came across with the problem before when using physics joints so I don't exactly know how to stop it, when I want to turn a metal gear 90 degrees, I want it to turn so that there is no rebound resulting in the gea continuously bouncing on the pivot, just turn and straight stop. I cannot stop this from happening however and I have done all I can. PLEASE HELP!

try lowering the restitution under angular settings, that set the bounciness of the object, the restitution is also affected by the joint strength, also increasing the joint strength a small amount means you can also increase the restitution some, combined with angular dampening you should be able to get the speed of rotation required with full stopping capabilities.
