Not my connection & not my router b4 anyone chooses to blame the most obvious thing!!!
The MP in this game is getting worse & worse, which makes no sense as more people own the game??
MP (any mode) - hardly ever finds a full room to play against, when i does, 1 person will at least drop out, leaving 3 peeps to play against.
Also whilst in game, the connection reguarly has to catch up with the visual game resulting in sections that are slowed down and then sections that are speed up ( very hard to play when this happens ) LAGG LAGG LAGG!!!
& the number one complaint .......... REDRAW REDRAW REDRAW REDRAW!!!
As said above its NOT MY CONNECTION ... I cant play ANY OTHER GAME I OWN including CODMWF2 ( renouned for connection issuse & Battlefield 1943 also known for connection issues ( well anything EA is! )
Also it is NOT MY XBOX that has the problem as surprise, surprise when i do ANY of the above .... the xbox is fine too!
I can watch the Iplayer,4OD,Sky & Lovefilm with NO PROBLEMS, NO LAGG & NO Drop-outs or package loss!!!
If u asked a independant body to come to a conclusion as to what is causing this issues they would come to the obvious conclusion that its can only be 2 things >
The game ( if so how about trying actually fix it instead of making more and more DLC`s )
or
The servers
I have no control over these things only RL does .....
When are you going to take seriously that there are "BASIC" issues with the game that need to be resolved .... i say BASIC because these days they are considered BASIC design faults!
There are countless things that are wrong with this game, In a modern world when you ask people to pay for something, if its broken, then you should repair it .... all I get here is brush off answers or told that its my own fault .... which is frankly crap!
How can you call youreself a proffessional company when the issuse that have surrounded this game since RELEASE STILL HAVE NOT BEEN FIXED ALMOST 8 MONTHS LATER!!!!
It's still just an Arcade game, it's not comparable to DISC games which have servers that take up city BLOCKS. Cod bf etc.
It may be the Microsoft servers, because my connection has been sh*t too lately. Pure Sh*t.
I just stick to TC and Single Player, I mean Multiplayer isn't that fun cause half the people aren't English speaking/Suck terribly/live in places where I shouldnt be connecting to them.
And you can never say it's not your connection.
Depending on your ISP they could ALWAYS be the problem, there's no way for you to tell directly who the problem is. Face the fact that technology is advanced but it still has its flaws, like everything in this world.
If you can't put up with the BS then don't play the game.
No offense was meant in anything I said above![]()
Thanks for the answers but .....Not my problem, if u release something then you should make sure that the medium its on can handle it. Its RL job to make sure this is the case!Originally Posted by ShartRelief
It may well be the MS servers, but when NO OTHER GAME I PLAY HAS THESE ISSES ,logic states its not MS!Originally Posted by ShartRelief
MP is fun too me & u can mute others if they annoy you. Saying stick to SP and TC is another "lets turn the head" attitude .... how many people have bought a game that they can play online and then only bothered playing offline? Why not just go the whole hog and ask RL to remove the MP completely ... problem resoveld ( yeh i`ll prob annoy a MINORATY of peeps, but hey when have RL ever cared about a MINORATY..Originally Posted by ShartRelief

Problems with TC ( RL thinking ... hey this effects everyone, we better fix it pronto )
Problems with Redraw & texture popping ( RL thinking, it only effects a minoraty ... so sod them .... hopefully over time they`ll bugger off ... we got thier cash)
Well i can actually Ive worked for a number of different ISP over the years ( compuserve, Demon, Lineone, NTL on there tech support so i know what im dealing with).... Ive re-routed my connection via my pc and have DUmeter running to clock how much data is being transmitted ...... Evo on a basis of 1hr gameplay routes approx 90mb( both ways - 45 up n 45 down) this is double what CODMWF2 does .... why??? This is a massive amount of data relative to what is actually going on .... If as shifty says is true, the tracks are held on the HD of the xbox .... wtf is being relayed over the net, surely the ghost cant take this much dataOriginally Posted by ShartRelief( still awaiting a sensinble answer from RL on this, its been avoided like the plague))
Again i disagree ... I play Evo, get the usual probs, i hit middle button and play COD or Brink ( both renouned for connectivity issuse - hey ho ... they work 100% ... can find a full room to play against, no lag, no redraw .... nowt ... i just works like A GAME SHOULD!!!Originally Posted by ShartRelief
No sorry, im not gonna get bullied into not playing a game that i like ...... Thats a totally cop-out answer, makes u wonder how things ever get resolved in the world when peeps consistantly get answers like thatOriginally Posted by ShartRelief![]()
No offence taken n also if i come accross a bit brash in my answers, sorry but im really angry & pis*ed atm, with a hell of a lot of violent thoughts towards RL running thru my head!!Originally Posted by ShartRelief
lol @ "Well i can actually Ive worked for a number of different ISP over the years ( compuserve, Demon, Lineone, NTL on there tech support so i know what im dealing with).... "
tech support for isp's know less than the customers calling for support.
regardless,
half the time when any game slows, its not your connection. often the other end can cause problems that you see on your end. another thing, just because the connection is sound, doesnt mean theres a glitch somewhere down the line. and finaly, if its the minority (your words) having issues, that would "suggest" the issue is not on there end.
B4 i answer this ... Im gonna say again prob for the buggerknowshowmanytimes ... Sorry RL for the way i delivered this message, my emotions got the better of me and as u can tell i went a bit nuts, i still stick by what i said but i should have done it in a more sensible manner .... so sorry again![]()
Thats a bit unfair .... i dont know who u deal with, but it certainlty wasnt like that in my day .... they prob seem a bit aloof as there prob playing a FPS on the snide and are trying to "help" you from thier memory (As i did with Quake II and Unreal TournamentOriginally Posted by BERTANDERNY) These days yeh, most the time a re-install or turn it off n on again does the trick .... those days ... no chance ..... everything had to be done manually n it had to be precise( its hard when playing a game
) ... they were the days the Mac had 1 mouse button n the OS was a right C**T to use

First 2 points - correct .... but if thats the case .... then its the severs that Evo uses, its the only thing left!Originally Posted by BERTANDERNY
The minority thing .... its a hard one as I thought this way too at first, but after process(s) of elimination (repeativly just to make sure) I can only logicly say that its the game or the servers as its does not happen on any of my other games?
As i pointed out above, 1hr of MP gameplay uses approx 95mb of data transfer, this is double what MWF2, Brink & Battlefield 1943 uses (all allow for more users online together), the only thing that should be being transfered are other peoples Ghosts?? What is going on .... it dont make no sense![]()
You aren't transferring ghosts, but real-time positioning data for the other riders. Latency causes many issues, but it doesn't need to be YOUR connection for you to have issues. Until an instantaneous transfer protocol is invented for gaming, there will ALWAYS be latency.
If another player's NAT is moderate, for instance, you may be able to connect, but the gameplay experience will be less than ideal as their positioning may not update in a timely fashion (this causes a player's bike to hop around on screen and go through objects) and a player who has already finished the race could seem, on your screen, to be sitting at the starting line.
The only issue I can think of that would cause heavy lag on in-game tracks would be if you have the game (base and/or DLC) being streamed from a USB drive that doesn't meet Microsoft's requirements. You'll end up with slowdown caused by the drive's transfer speed struggling to keep up with the game.
Also, and I know you don't want to hear this, it COULD be your router and/or modem. Microsoft has published lists to use for port-forwarding, but I find it much easier to just pick up an XBL certified router, they work out of the box.
Sorry Shifty but that it a prime example of what people are talking about. Blame everything else except the game.
There has always been obvious issues with online features in Evo from the outset.
My ports are forwarded, NAT is always open, all my devices have static IPs and I've seen issues playing with someone who lives 3 miles away.
It's almost like ringing up tech support for [insert company name here].
You spend ages trying to get a point across just to be fobbed off again and again when we know full well what and where the issue lies.
I'd be much more satisfied if you guys came out and said that you have done all you can to optimise the net code and it that's as good as it will get.
That I would respect.
Maybe if we were given details for the issue other than "it doesn't work" we'd be able to investigate, replicate, and find a solution.
There is 20+ pages of issues in the support thread. There is bound to be details there.
indeed there are lag issues with the online, but it's the same with every game on XBL because the service is ****, £40 a year for a console full of adverts, and a community full of ******ed twats...don't instantly blame a RL, blame MS for being cheapskates....and definitely don't start thinking that because you've worked in tech support and followed scripts throughout you know everything about internet connectivity, thats pure bollocks, you have a good phone manner, that is all...the internet is a rather fickle thing....i live 2 miles from my sister, my nephews and i struggle to play ANY game over XBL without serious lag issues - we're both on 16mb (ish) broadband
now, i have to say i'm firmly with RL on this (well, shifty), nothing can be done without having useful information supplied, now there could be issues with the matchmaking side of things, been that long since i tried MP on it i can't remember if any options are available like ;- fast connection (least wait), best connection (longer wait)
some of us are actually happy to have a company release games for an average price, then release REALLY CHEAP DLC, which by far outweighs any piece of **** that is released for any AAA title, for less than half of the price - but as has been said previously, this is an arcade title and shouldn't be compared to a retail release
and finally, learn how to type / spell, whatever, i'm sick of this ****** up text speak hybrid english bollocks that kids are doing these days, it makes you sound even more ******ed than is physically possible
now i'm bored, one last thing, no need for port forwarding etc, add xbox to DMZ on your router, sorted
anyways, time to troll elsewhere, don't want to get banned for becoming too abusive in my first day on herethat can wait until the DLC come out and i start blaming everyone on here for my severe lack of skills... that is the things that aren't all slinky's fault (damn i hate seeing that name on leaderboards, j/k, he's who i watched on HD to learn how to play)
