How to make a waving motion

In my new track I have something that makes a sort of waving motion. That is going down in an arc and then coming back up(I.E a wave).

My problem is I have absolutely no idea how to go about this. A hinge, make it spin? I really have no idea.

    Any help is appreciated.

If the rider doesnt contact it then you can use an OPE to do it. Just invert the second half (check box) and loop it (check box). Otherwise, you'll need to use a physics joint and tie its velocity to a curved data source to make it loop etc.

Oh ok. That sounds a lot easier. Thanks barry.

an ope connected with a curved datascource( looping and invert second half)

if its an object that comes in contact with the driver you will need to use physics

    EDIT: those ninja's grrr

Cannibal Shogun did a video for this a while back:

Just do the same thing but upside down, and you have a wave.
