    Emitters?

I've hooked up an emitter so it puts out some boxes (with low friction) along a conveyor belt and in the editor when you press "back" to turn physics on it works perfectly, but when you test ride the level it doesn't work at all or sometimes launches one box out a high speed then stops?
Anyone used emitters before and got them working?
    Thanks.

Does it have to do with the physics bubble?

I'm not sure, don't think so as I moved my contraption right to the start checkpoint to see if it would work when the bike was really close to it but that still didn't help?

    Re: Emitters?

i've found with the emitter that if the object exits the physics bubble, it freezes on the perimeter, but when the bubble re-encompasses it, the object flies in the opposite direction at high speed, so it may be better to turn physics off inside the emitter and match the speed of the conveyor belt, unless the player has contact with the objects.

    Just use an OPE

    Re: Emitters?

Are your boxes a single object or more than one object glued together? I had a similar issue trying to emit a glued object.

The emitter is a neat tool for certain applications, but it is heavy on engine. It can cause serious lag if you are not careful. Your conveyer belt you are describing seems better suited for OPE in my opinion.

I'm now making a basketball fps skill game.
Without the emitter, you cannot make a realistic shot.

the emitter is a tricky thing.i used it recently n had the same problem.i extended the physics bubble n found it worked perfect.my use of this was for an animated end showin cannon balls being fired...looked good when it worked right.

    Re: Emitters?

If the objects being emitted have physics, and they aren't in the physics bubble, then they won't work

ahhh..of course... that solved my problem...cheers jarr for pointing this out..makes sense now for wot my problems were that i encountered..
my cannon balls had physics applied, so as an end animation, and with the firing cannons being in the distance(outside the bubble), for it to look right i had to make the bubble bigger...

just explained my dilema i had...cheers guys.
