ok, so I know how a trigger and physics event work to activate an objects physics, but how can I get an object to start falling while I am a little far away from it? no matter where I put my trigger in relation to the object, the object/ objects won't start falling until I am riding close to them. ARRG! help please!
Check out the tutorial for OPE, its the only possible way.Originally Posted by bloodbooger
If you look at your bike/rider in the editor view there is a little red cube that floats slightly ahead of them. When you select it, a red-dashed globe appears around it. For pure physics to work, the object in question has to have both the physics turned on, and be within the boundary of that red-dashed physics-globe. You can greatly increase the size of the physics-globe as you see fit, and you can also adjust where the physics-globe stays positioned relative to the rider, but you stand to suffer a performance hit if you greatly increase its size in combination with a complex track.
If sizing and adjusting the position of the the physics-globe does not work, the only other fix I'm aware of is to attach your trigger to an object position event instead.
Thx guys! OPE was too complicated for me, but the physics bubble did the trick. Just got a little lag at the end. It does not seem to hurt the running of the track though. Will hopfully release it tomorrow.
