I want use pinball looking ramps to create a track where the chrome ball is the character instead of the guy on a bike. I would like the same controls as the rider as far as braking and gas...is there any way to make this happen??
I looked at the example track of sphere but have no idea where to start from that, I want the game to still use the same track (start to finish) rather than if u fall of the course its over
is this even possible or am i thinking to outside the box?
thanks
kind of like a marble running a track but you control the speed? yes its possible, have a play around with gluing directional forces like a catherine-wheel to the object and control the force they apply to the chrome ball, if your stumped about the controller input, i recommend a look at the tutorial videos at redlynx tv on youtube.
Here is my video that shows how to use RT/A Chrome Ball for the gas/forwards and LT/X for Reverse/Backwards
also you can mess with the Area Effectors - Force Settings - Direction Force to make the ball/sphere go slower or faster.
Hope This Helps.

Good video. I would however suggest using the directional force instead of the area effector. Set to "global" you can glue the force directly to the ball and it will always stay pointing the direction you set it at. This saves you a bunch of steps adjusting the area effectors and there is no need for an OPE. Both are good solutions one is just a bit quicker to build.
