Headbanger 36 - try my tracks!
Try out my maps:
- Mountain King X3.0
- Jumping the Shark
- Full Moon Fever 2.0
I am Headbanger 36. I create medium level difficulty maps for "normal" players. No Ninjas need apply; nothing against them
'm actually jealous of their mad skills), but they'd hate my courses - way too easy for them. All you aging old school gamers out there will like my courses. If you owned a PONG machine or a 2600 at some point in your youth, you'll fit in skill wise.
All of them are use basic physics and mechanisms. I don't have time or talent to do the serious logic programing needed for the skill games or to animate objects. I wish I could do that stuff, just don't have time to learn it. I wish Red Lynx would put out an actual book on that stuff. Viewing the YouTube videos is cool, but an actual book with how-to steps for various things would be great.
- Mountain King X3.0 - started off as Mountain King, then I just kept coming up with cool things I wanted to do. I ended up with a 15 minute long course, but it's way cool in my biased opinion. I especially like the stuff I came up with on top of the mountain. The only place you may get hung up on is the 3rd appartus on top of the mountain. You've got to accelerate forward to it, then break and flip over so you're back tire catches in the vertical structure. Then you can just accelerate up to the top. It's very easy and fun once you get the hang of it. I saw it on some other courses and I was able to successfully implement it on my course.
- Jumping the Shark - Plain old normal length fun course. I wanted to start at the highest point possible in the world and end up at ground level - and jump a shark. The stupid blob in the pool at the end is supposed to be a shark. It would have been sweet if I knew how to properly create and animate it so that it would jump out of the water at the bike dude as you jump the pool. If you don't get the reference....put the controller down and let your parents play. If you're old enough to have qualified for your mid-life crisis, you'll get the reference. Pardon my sarcasm.
- Full Moon Fever 2.0 - Halloween/Horror themed map. I wanted to figure out how to make it dark, then I decided to turn it into a Halloween map; also spinning blades. I also wanted to turn a body of water into blood, so I did that too. I especially like the evil Jack O Lanterns spewing blood back into the waterway. I wanted to add tons more gore, but it's not really practical to do so. I wanted to trick out/finish the Pit of Death/Gateway to Hell at the end but have not done so yet; maybe in v3.0.
Stuff I wish they would add to the editor:
- wolf pack sounds
- werewolf sounds
- zombie moans (looping background sounds)
- chain dragging sounds
- chainsaw sounds
- a cool Great White shark
- a fully articulated crash test dummy
- a wood chipper large enough to land an Evo in, head first
- blood effects: blood gush geyser, bleeding wall, spinning blades blood splatter; etc
- an auto leveling button (to auto level an object you are working on)
- an auto centering/leveling button for joining objects - may just be me, but new saw blades are a pain in the butt to add to existing spin structure; same with getting the pivot point exactly balanced. I always end up with a wobbly pivot structure.
- an auto connect/snap-to for joining objects; ie. to make track making quicker, aligning pieces together, etc.
- a cache for undo, so you can back out several steps (like Photoshop) on a given object creation
- way to add texture to an object (blood splatter, dirt etc)
- a light object that is like a laser beam, only a strong light. I had wanted beams of light to shine out of the Jack O that's mounted on the Hellraiser beam (Full Moon Fever map). I went with a point light which was quick and easy and looked good too.
- tire burning smoke/flames, various
- flying bats
- ability to handle WAY WAY more fire/light and other physics (hint hint: Xbox 720)
- increase length of file save names
All I could think of for now.
Up the Irons!

As I've posted, these can all be done.
Several of those items can be done using the snap to workplane tool in Editor options.
