On today's level (496), I'm getting different results on my iPhone and iPad. I'm using an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0 and an iPad 3 with iOS 5.1.1.
Anyway, on my iPhone I can hold the right button and the character pretty much coasts to the end of the level without any jumping required until the wooden stick, bubble, cannon section. One very noticeable part is that the character lands smoothly in the downhill section immediately after the floating wood platform. When I try holding the right button on my iPad, the character does not experience the same physics at all and does not land in that downhill area the same way. There should be no difference between the two, in theory, because I am not hitting the jump button at all. The character swinging their arms before you start running is no longer a factor like in the very early days of the game, so each run should be consistent these days. This happens on both the HD app and the regular app when I tested both on my iPad.
I'm leaning to this being more of an iOS issue than some kind of discrepancy between devices (processor speed?), but I wonder if this has anything to do with the broken replay issue. All replays on my iPhone (iOS 6.0) are broken and all the replays on my iPad (iOS 5.1.1) have worked.
Can anyone else post their findings on this level? Please post what device and firmware you're using if possible! Thanks.
This seems pretty consistent with what TOPS have been discussing. iPhone 5 certainly has a massive advantage on today's level (and I suspect on the last few as well as I have been struggling on my 3gs much more than ever to keep a top 25). Most of the top times from today were made using only a single jump from the bubble (Nullry's requiring no jumps at all). This is in now way possible with my 3gs (running iOS 5.16 I think). Sucks.
It also seems that replays made on iPhone 5 only play back on iPhone 5.
Interesting, I hadn't considered that. It's a bit disappointing if this difference can't be fixed, because this level is much easier on my phone since it barely requires any adjustments.Originally Posted by arseiam

But I have the same issues on my iPhone4 with iOS 5.0.1. No way I could do a 1 jump run...
I did notice this today and also another day where running in the beginning on the iphone 5 proved a different result than my ipad 1.
Also i tested the replays and this seems to definitely be the issue. iphone 5 replay wont play on ipad, and the other way around. Maybe redlynx just wants to congratulate owners on their brand new beautiful phones? Or is it that this game desperately needs some dev attention and we are completely left in the dark wether or not it has been just completely abandoned by redlynx/ubisoft?
Ether way you look at it, in my opinion, its extremely dissapointing. Can we get some love please?
There's another issue with today's level (499) that's different on my phone than my iPad. If you start up the level and let the preview scroll through the level, you will see three blocks of ice on the slope immediately before a valley containing one block of ice and a bubble. On my phone (iOS 6.0), all 3 blocks end up in the valley by the time I reach that section, letting me get a smooth run into the bubble. On my iPad (iOS 5.1.1), on both the HD and regular 1000 Heroz, only two blocks fall into that same valley.
It seems more difficult and time-consuming to get around the remaining block than it is on my phone. I imagine these differences will only get more egregious and unfair the more I compare the two. This is disappointing...
yeah i dont think my time is even possible on an ipad.....
Same here, tried three replays today (499) Hige, Nytmair and Nullrygar and all 3 have been failed runs. I am on iphone 4 running 5.1.1. and yes the 3 blocks all fall down to the bubble for me.
PS Hige, where are you from, we need some players for the ryder cup next weekend, race 508-510
Hmmm. I have an iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0 and for me, only 2 of the 3 ice blocks fall down into the valley. Hige said in the first post that he has an iPhone 5, so I guess, in this case at least, the phone model is the differentiating factor and not the OS. Ugh
Well I normally play on an iPhone 5 and Nullrygar said he uses a 5 too. Arse said that iPhone 5 replays only work on iPhone 5, so Nytmair might be using a 5 too if none of the replays were working for you. I'm from the US, but I can't really commit to any tournaments, sorry.Originally Posted by alvyronson
I really can't make any sense of this since it would seem like a hardware issue in this case, yet alvyronson is using a 4 with no problems. Anyway, thanks for the input, guys.Originally Posted by arianj
