I agree with the OP, it is very disappointing to see this kind of advertising in paid content. I counted 20 billboards littering one track. That is way over the top.

I don't mind advertising in games. I saw some in Splinter Cell (ubisoft) and see it just as a method for developers (or publishers) to get money from product manufacturers.
There's two ways to look at it, either they are using the funds from advertising to better fund the current game, or they are pocketing the money.
No matter what:
We get the game, we play the game.
