    I haven't seen any servers that allow this wonderful little plane and I was curious as to why that might be. I play on full real servers and my first impression is that it isn't allowed because it was never built in significant numbers, although I have seen a couple missions with Mig 3U's and there were only six of them.

    If GG can support a map with the Komet on it then surely there could be room for the I-185

    I think banning of I-185 from servers is kinda lame, maybe it`s a bit too much for 1942, but in 1943 it has even matches to it.. Hell G-2 can beat it...actually.

    Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

    Just another plane, the ones that I have the hardest time fighting however are BF109zs. Any other plane is easy, just might require different tactics.

    The deadliness of the I-185 is super exaggerated. I don't play online but in offline play I found that when I switched planes in my career from the Lagg-3 S4 to the I-185, I did much worse!!!! Against Emils, early Fs and G2, the Lagg is much deadlier because it's more manuerable at the speeds often experienced in offline mode against AI, which is about the same speeds you'll experience online in most fighting situations. I find the I-185 to feel very stiff at much over 450Kph while the early Lagg doesn't. And the I-185 is so fast and gets to speed so fast that it's hard to keep it in the slower speed range where it handles better. Trying to keep it slow enough so you don't blackout when you turn is fairly difficult at times. It also is a terrible gun platform and it's harder to control where it's nose points than most mid-war planes. The extra speed it has is not that useful except defensively, to get away. But offensively it stinks and I actually switched my campaign to the Lagg-3S-29 and now I'm doing much better against the 109 family once again. I think it should be included in servers since it really is not all that hot except power/speed-wise, which is not everything. You need good handling at reasonable speeds which the I-185 lacks. Try going aginst various 109s in it and then try Yaks or Laggs, you'll be surprised at how much worse you'll do in the I-185. Will take you longer to down the enemy in it than the others. Anyone banning it from their servers should give it a chance and they'll find few people will whine about it one month from now. At first they will whine just due to it's exaggerated reputation alone though.

    People think it's Uber although 1MK 108'll blow it to smitheriens, and it's wings are relativly weak to gunfire.

    I feel MUCH other aircraft need to be "baaned" then the 185

    I was ona server last time which had on bleu side:
    The 109 Z
    Go 229 AND ta 152
    Red side: All normal planes excluding
    YP 80
    the Mig3 ShVAK
    and some other "uber" planes to those people.

    How lame,thigns that saw combat they ban,things that didn't they let fly....

    its a great aircraft both in looks and performance, but its nothing special.

    If I remember correctly, there was a lot of talk just before Ace was released about how the Ta-152 will knockout anything in the sky. I dont hear much about it now, certainly from flying it i've found it nothing too spectacular as a fighter.(its good with bombers though). Same sort of anticipation was felt around the p-63.

    I'm amazed that the i-185 is banned, I had no idea, thats crazy

    The 185 and its variants are uber to all other aircraft.
    Faster, turns better, very powerful cannons.
    I'd run if I were you instead of going against one. I always fly the void skin and use wingtip smoke as fair warning to all, who, go against it.
